My husband and I just got back from a car trip we took to Houston. We ended up staying a few nights with our two dogs. First thing - this place is pet friendly (for a fee) We were told we needed to keep a sign on the door at all times where the dogs were in the room. Well, we didn't have a sign, nor did we have a "quite please" sign - but that's neither here or there. The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was quite comfortable for a hotel bed, actually. The shower had great water pressure. We even had room service one night - the food was brought quickly and was really good! Now, onto the not as great things - the elevator smelled so musty and gross. It was awful. The other thing is that this hotel seems to be located in an older part of town and it seemed to be a more run-down area. Just a minute down the street was a building which had large signage that advertised a 10 dollar lap dance. I just didn't think we needed to be so near this kind of establishment. Otherwise, we had no real complaints! « less

“Who is the housekeeper?”

After my last week’s experience with Housekeeping at the Marriott Courtyard Christiana Mall in Newark, DE (see that review entitled “Bizarre”) and in view of my recently achieved GOLD status, I decided to stay at a full service Marriott to enjoy the benefits of the Concierge Lounge. It did not disappoint. The evening snacks and, in fact, the light dinner should one choose to not bother to go to the dining room, was excellent. Besides the cheese, fruit and crudités, each evening offered soup (the cream of tomato was the best I’ve ever had) and a hot entre. Water and soft drinks are complimentary and alcoholic beverages are modestly priced. Breakfast was equally good with healthy selections such as oatmeal as well as eggs, sausage and bacon. The service was excellent everywhere.
Now for the Housekeeping service I’ll be generous and rate it mediocre to bad.
First night; bath mat was not replaced and used glass not washed or replaced.
Second night; this was the worst as all soaps were removed although they did not need to be and no new ones were put back. Nothing like getting in the shower and finding that there’s no soap. Don’t take what’s there unless and until the item will be replaced.
Third night; regular coffee packet had been replaced with Decaf so that there was two decaf and no regular. The housekeeper had enjoyed some water and ice, nothing wrong with that, and then left the cup still with melting ice in it so that I could clean up after her. Who’s the housekeeper?
Overall this is a great property and convenient to my place of work and I’ll continue to stay here but I’m hoping that Management will take my observations as a basis in order to make the necessary corrections. « less

Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback. I enjoy hearing from all of my guests both when they have a good experience or when we fail to meet basic expectations. I am so sorry that our Housekeeping services were below standard. Since your stay, I have shared your comments with our staff and we sre working to ensure that our rooms are serviced to the standards you typically expect at a Marriott.
If I may be of further service to you , please feel free to contact me at roger.radtke@JQH.com
I hope to have the chance to serve you again in the future.
Thank you.

I needed a "quick" place to stay for a short trip to Houston. This was close to the Hobby Airport., on the freeway so I could find it, and just down from the University of Houston where the conference was being held. I was not expecting much, as it is close to the airport. Many things are run down in the area - or at least the last time I was there it was "old." Surpirse, surprise, surprise! The room was exceptionally nice with 2 TV's (flat screen), nice king sized bed, plenty of pillows, sitting area, nice view, very posh. I could have held a small conference there myself! The pool was nice and the exercise room was acceptable for what I wanted/needed. Easy access to the freeway on and off made for some small excursions in the area - which was not bad this time! AND FOR THE PRICE, this was an EXCEPTIONAL deal! I will stay there again for the next conference! « less

This is my second stay at the Houston Hobby Marriott. This hotel is very convenient to some business I conduct regularly in Houston, so I feel like it is the obvious choice of places for me to stay while in the area.
The front desk staff is incredibly professional and friendly. They are not over the top and fake when helping you, but, they come across as inviting and honestly concerned about your comfort and your stay. They are great.
This stay I had two rooms, one for me and my wife and one for my three children. Both rooms were very nice, clean and well appointed. I could not find anything to complain about with the rooms, even if I tried. Honestly, I don't think that you will find as nice of a room in the price point. ($99 per night)
The hotel pool was clean and well maintained and was a nice treat for the kids.
The food from the hotel restaurant was excellent. My kids love to order room service, so we had late night room service. The customer service, presentation and the quality of the food was spot on. The in room dining is also not horribly expensive.
All things considered, this Marriott is probably my favorite of the Marriott properties I have stayed at in the past few years. All-in-all, I am pretty sure that you can book here without cause for concern. Really, I think you can book here and you can plan on enjoying your visit. « less
