This hotel is overpriced for what you get and they charge you more for everything. The rooms were nice and bed comfortable, but not worth the cost. Many other hotels are nicer any less expensive.
Extra charges: Park car $50/day, Wifi $16 a day
Additionally they have exspensive mini bars that are on a sensor + Fiji Water Bottle on a sensor. So you are basically afraid to touch anything in the room for fear it will cost you more money.
Worst part: I left some dress shirts in the closet and they never contacted me! I realized it two weeks later then called an they had it, then they charged me to ship it. This is not the service I expect from a high quality hotel. I have have better service in hostels. « less

We ran into quite a few problems at the Intercontinental. We called before arrival to confirm that early check-in would be possible, only to arrive and wait two hours for a room. Check-in experience was strange, in that others were greeted with maps and hotel orientations when we merely were given keys and sent on our way. Our room was tiny, with a queen bed. More importantly, it was extremely dusty, with terribly moldy grout in the shower, and a metal AC return plate that hung off the wall by two screws and slammed against it when the AC turned on and off. Half the light bulbs needed to be screwed into the lamps to get light, and the coffee maker did not work. HOWEVER, when we finally complained at check out (we really should have complained earlier) the manager on duty did everything she could to apologize and make things right, including comping our wifi, offering us complimentary breakfast, and promising to upgrade us should we return. So there are obviously some facility maintenance problems at this property, but their customer service at the managerial level is quite impressive. Just let them know of any problems sooner into your stay than we did for a more positive experience at this hotel! « less

Loved staying at Intercontinental. The rooms are immaculately clean, and the bed was one of the most comfy beds I've ever slept in! Modern rooms with a big, flatscreen TV mounted on the wall in front of the bed and a beautiful bathroom. Great location as well. Only annoying this is that they don't offer wi-fi and charge a lot for you to use it. Starbucks is just around the corner though, and they offer free wifi. Overall a beautiful hotel, would definitely stay there again! « less

The Intercon at San Fran was nothing but amazing. Immaculate in every way. The clean room, the friendly and helpful staff cheery hellos wherever we went. Superb service in the club lounge, as well as all other areas.
The highlight of oujr stay was our dinner at Luce. Beyond description, the service, presentation and taste was as good as anything I have ever had.
Kudos to management for assembling a great team.
We will certainly be recommending this hotel to everyone we talk to.

I recently stayed at this hotel in May 2013. I have to say the service was great. The rooms are spacious with every accommodation needed. Like previously stated in other reviews, the hotel does not offer free wifi which I found to be ridiculous. It was my anniversary and the hotel presented us with a complimentary bottle of champagne. The hotel is located in downtown San Francisco and everything is within walking distance or a cable ride away. Great stay and would definitely stay with the intercontinental during my next trip to San Francisco. « less
