This was a horrible hotel. I put the standard of this hotel at the standard of hotels I have stayed at in cities of India. The check in was slow and the staff painfully rude apart from one. The room was small...tiny. Couldn't close the bathroom door without squeezing beside the toilet. Requested a change of room and was told that was going to happen for the next day. The next day no one had any idea about this. The so called concierge was the lady in the gift shop who seemed to have trouble with English. The location was ok. « less

Management response from Tara Williams, Manager
Greetings from New York City,
I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay last June. I assure you, in the past 12 months the Radisson Martinique has actively cultivated our commitment to service and the total guest experience. Recently posted reviews on TripAdvisor often praise our customer service. Likewise, our sleeping rooms are continuously updated. Since your stay in 2012, the Hotel replaced our in-room seating and all bedding. We are currently installing new lighting and artwork will arrive on property shortly. In January 2013 the Hotel opened a third on-site restaurant, Petit Poulet. Also, in the past few months, a redesign of our lobby has expanded seating and relaxation space for our guests comfort.
I urge you to choose the new Radisson Martinique for your next visit to NYC. I am confident you will be pleasantly surprised.
Warmest regards, Tara Williams

I travelled to Manhattan, New York City in March this year with my sister, and stayed at The Wellington Hotel for our first two nights, but due to being fully booked, we decided to opt for The Radisson Martinique – still in Mid Town Manhattan, but on Broadway and right in the centre of things. The Hotel Martinique opened in 1898 amidst the boom of hotel and theatre life on Broadway. It is steeped in history having opened in 1910. It has a vast lobby featuring an inspiring mosaic-tile floor and an 18 story spiral staircase, both of which are still very much intact today. I dare you to look down from the top floor – it’ll make your head spin! The hotel is surrounded by the Broadway theatre district and used to be a popular meeting spot for Vaudeville entertainers, flappers, Broadway actors, artists and writers back in the Roaring Twenties. In 1998, the Hotel Martinique was granted landmark status by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, and in 2010 an extensive renovation of all guest rooms and meeting space was completed. Today the Radisson Martinique on Broadway shines with rich history and a warm ambiance reminiscent of a romantic bygone era. When we arrived in the foyer of the hotel, we couldn’t help noticing how helpful and friendly the doormen were. In fact, one doorman in particular (Ronnie) was so much fun we could ask him for anything. From directions, to recommending where to eat, the best bars, how to travel, watch over our luggage etc – and he’d even do a little dance on the sidewalk with us, whenever we saw him. What a way to keep guests happy! We noticed that a number of airline crew were busy arriving from and leaving for JFK airport, and this was true for the remainder of our 10 day trip. Great if you like people watching, like me! As we hadn’t booked in advance, we asked at reception for the best possible room, up as high as possible for the best view for two sisters sharing, on a budget – and we were given a double-bedded executive room on the 17th floor. Both the 17th and 18th floors were on the Penthouse level – so we were very lucky, as the hotel was not as fully booked as usual. There are now 600+ rooms. Our first room on the 17th was well appointed, with a state of the art coffee machine, fabulous bathroom, lovely fabrics and furnishing – and plenty of space, wardrobes, chest of draws – plus a great view. From our room, we could see The Chrysler Building. Both my sister and I had planned to travel upstate to Maine, but because the weather changed dramatically, with a snow storm Saturn coming our way, we had to stay in NYC. This meant that we ended up re-booking our room each day, and tried to obtain the best daily rate possible. (Not always recommended!) However, a friend from the UK arrived unexpectedly, and we asked for a twin double-bedded room so we could share together. We were fortunate enough to then be swapped up to the 18th floor Penthouse, which should have cost more, but our friendly reception staff did what they could to accommodate our request. This second room didn’t have the same views, but that didn’t matter. The hotel has a very impressive full American buffet breakfast served every day – downstairs is a little more expensive, but as we had negotiated B&B, we each had a coupon and exchanged this in the upstairs restaurant. Lunchtimes and evening meals are served in the downstairs restaurant with well-stocked bar (and a wide screen TV for sports fans.) Lovely light snacks or starters, delicious New York Strip steaks with choice of salad and sides – and my favourite, Baby Back Ribs. A Manhattan cocktail is also a must! The subway entrance is very close by, as are the shops – including Macy’s, Fifth Avenue, Victoria’s Secret and lots more. The Hotel is also one block away from Fifth Avenue and The Empire State Building. There are loads of eateries, bars and coffee shops to visit. And still amidst the excitement, and within walking distance to Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, Broadway Theatres and the Chelsea art galleries and restaurants. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough, and I can’t wait to return. « less

As soon as you step into the Martinique you'll be able to understand why 19 worldwide airlines select this hotel for their crews. The lobbey is well appointed and packed with helpful doormen and knowledgable staff. The rooms are above average for a historic downtown hotel in Manhatten. They are clean well appointed with Keurig machines and iPod docking stations. The real benefit is the ease of transportation to almost anywhere in NYC. There is a subway station underneath the hotel with an entrance just paces from the front door. It is only steps from Broadway where you be able to catch a great show and the building is located in the Korean Town section of New York which makes it easy to find some unique restaurants. Grand Central station is an easy walk, right turn out of the hotel a right on Ave of the Americas and a right just past Bryant Park. If you are looking for high value and great location stay with the airline pros at the Radisson Martinique. « less
