The staff was very kind, helping me find the long distance to my room. The shuttle even took me through the rain to the Reliant Center and that was wonderful. However, the room was filthy. I pulled back the side table for another outlet and I wish that I hadn't looked. It has never been cleaned. I will post a picture of the drapes, as I cannot comment here.
They are remodeling, the staff was amazing, but never again. « less

Stay for 3 nights during Offshore Technology Conference 2013. select this hotel for its location close to reliant park overall service was fine. some decoration & furniture may need upgrade such as carpet, elevator. definitely TV in room should be upgrade to more recent model. got the room in the Rio Grande Building, had to walked all the way from reception (front) to the building (back). some door leading to outside of the building weren't lock properly. elevator wasn't clearly marked and it was slow. got a problem with key card and wasn't able to get into room. it took almost half an hour for the IT staff to arrive to check and he had to go back to get new card. breakfast voucher was confusing. eventhough we had voucher but the staff still bring us bill to sign. possibility to double charge (didn't say that it happen to my group). quality of breakfast was above par. « less

This hotel is conveniently close to Reliance Stadium but it is poorly maintained. This is the 3rd year I've stayed in this hotel so I could be close to a conference. For a premium hotel it was poorly maintained. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
I was there on business and was unable to connect to the internet, what a horrible situation when you're traveling. Same problem previous years. I had to go to a nearby Starbucks to connect to the internet.
Restaurant food was marginal, especially breakfast. Some guests complained of 'brown' water in the rooms furthest away from the front desk.
The positives - The room was clean and staff very friendly and responsive when available. « less

Just spent 4 nights here. I was unable to find my room. Had to walk through buildings 1 and 2 to get the elevator in building 3 up to the 3rd floor to walk over to building 4. Talk about confusing. Other people were lost also so I know it wasn't just me. When finally getting to my room the patio door's lock was broken so I had to wait for the repair guy to come fix it. No way I can sleep in a room with an open door. The toilet is so close to the tub that you can not actually exit the tub if the door of the bathroom is open. As there is nowhere to dry your hair, with a mirror, except the steamy bathroom, you'll want to keep that door open (probably applies to women travelers only!). Do not attempt any of this in the dark or after a few drinks :). There is no fridge, or safe, which I found surprising in a room costing $250+ per night. I don't know when the hotel store is open as I didn't see any hours posted and it was never open when I walked by. So if you need something, good luck. There were supposed to be shuttles to take us to Reliant Satdium but they were never there when I went to get one. It's a bit of a hike in the hot Houston sun otherwise. On my first night I went to the bar/lounge and the food service was extremely slow. When I got my check items were missing. Good job I am an honest person. When leaving the hotel and waiting for my airport shuttle I asked if they had water. Yes, for $2.50. Forget that.
Now to the positives. We held a BBQ out on the Rio Grand deck and it was lovely. The food was very mediocre but I am not sure if that was hotel catered or not. The bar tender was really helpful and quick. The front desk staff members were friendly and helpful also and when I ordered room service it came quickly and was correct. The pillows were great and I slept we'll. I turned off the air on as it was really loud and right above my bed. The room kept cool so no issue there.
This hotel configuration is too spread out and means a lot of walking back and forth. I don't think the room and amenities warrant the price and I can only assume it's because it's near Reliant. This was a business trip and I wouldn't go there on my own dime as you have to drive to get anywhere else.

Stayed here while visiting the med center. Did that twice in fact. Stayed in the tower which is still being renovated but is certainly worth the $'s. The hotel is older but upscale. The price of the room includes a very big breakfast buffet. Also includes a shuttle service to med center and also to anywhere within 3 or 5 miles of hotel. Food is just so, so. Could use a little work in there. However all of the staff is simply over the top. They couldn't be more helpful, informative, quick to help and so very friendly to make the guests feel welcomed. If we ever need a place to stay in that area, we will definitely go back. Feel like we made friends. Thanks Edward, Salvadore and everyone else there. « less
