Great rooms, ideal location, and fantastic breakfast. But what made this stay stand out the most was the service. From the multiple emails I received prior to our stay, to our experience with the bellmen, front desk staff, management, and the restaurant staff, I was so impressed with the kindness and attentiveness of the hotel's staff. They consistently went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. Would definitely return. « less

We checked into the JW Marriott on Saturday late morning and since my husband has status with the Marriott chain, they offered to upgrade us to a king executive room but told us we would have to wait a little while for one to become available. We agreed and took off to the French Quarter. Soon we were left a vm that our room was ready. We headed back and were given a room on the 25th floor. The room was occupied with someone's belongings! We hurried out and went to call the front desk from the phone near the elevators. We were told we would have to wait for another room to become available and they offered to open the concierge lounge. The bellman who came up with our luggage insulted the manager by describing her as a "big, fat, African American woman" when we weren't sure of her name. No class at all!
We were not happy after leaving the French Quarter to come back to no room! They comped our lunch and then got us another room which took much longer than they promised (they also tried to put us back in the occupied room!). They are supposed to credit back my husband's points for both nights' stay and they sent up wine and cheese to make up for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, they didn't clean our room at all on Sunday and at 6 pm when they showed up, we were getting ready for dinner and asked for clean towels but didn't have time for them to clean the room. Not the room service I'd expect at this nice of a hotel. The manager went out of her way to try to make it right after the check-in debacle. Great location and people were pretty friendly but I'd probably try another hotel next time. « less
