I have been visiting Sea Trail for 10 years and it has really become run down. It is a lovely golf resort location but the lodging has not been kept up. The conference center and restaurant are also very run down. However, if you want an inexpensive resort vacation, a golf week with friends or an inexpensive place to hold a conference this is your place. The "villas" are owner decorated so the decor is pot luck. I've been in some great ones and some not so great... Like River Walk and Royal Post areas the best. Sort drive to gorgeous beach and some great seafood restaurants. This is a family beach type community north of North Myrtle Beach just inside North Carolina. « less

Our family of four had a great time at Sea Trail during Spring Break. My husband loved playing golf while our girls enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool. We liked that our villa was so close to the Activity Center, local shops and restaurants, and the Sunset Beach bridge. All of the Sea Trail staff -- front desk, Activity Center, clubhouses, and cleaning crew -- were VERY helpful and gracious. We will definitely stay at Sea Trail again . . . and next time we WILL bring our bikes. « less

My foursome was looking for a spring golf trip and decided to go to Sea Trail mainly due to the low cost. I'm glad we did. The check in process was painless. The staff there was very friendly and efficient. The condo was clean and well appointed. We were provided with daily towel service, but the rooms were not cleaned daily. This was not an issue as we knew about it prior to arrival. The golf courses were in great shape, especially for the end of winter. The fairways were green while the rough was still brown. The traps are dirt instead of white sand. While not that attractive, it didn't affect the play. What made our weekend was our interaction with the staff. The cart guys at the Jones clubhouse were great. The last day we were scheduled to play the Byrd course at 7:57. We discovered that there was a group of 12 in front of us. Not only that, they were already behind, even before they teed off. The starter came over and quietly offered the Jones course to us. He said there was only a twosome in front of us. That was perfect as we had no one holding us up the entire round. The highest award for customer service goes to Judy, one of the cart ladies. We played 36 holes on Saturday, but did not have enough time between rounds to get lunch. About the third hole into our round, Judy drove up. When we asked her if she had any sandwiches, she said no, but said she would drive back to the clubhouse and make us some. She did this quickly and with a smile. Needless to say, she received a generous tip. It's customer service like this that brings customers back. If there was any negative with the trip, it was management, or the lack of it. Every job we saw at this resort was understaffed. The restaurant had only one person taking care of the bar and the dining area. Judy, the cart lady was taking care of two courses on Sunday. Management needs to hire additional workers. All in all, this is a nice resort. I would recommend it for a golf outing and plan to go back in the future. « less

We stayed at Sea Trail and had a fantastic time, the rooms were great and the golf was even better. The only thing that could have been better was the weather, but we expected cooler temps in February. This was our second time at Sea Trail and certainly won't be out last! « less

We love the villa style units that are perfect for the entire family! We stayed in the Champions units and had two beautiful queen beds with a nice living rooms and fully stocked kitchen. The villa was clean and quiet- perfect for a nice getaway!
The beach is close by where there are chair rentals and banana bikes in the summer months!
There isn't much around the resort unless you like golf, but there is a nice pool in the summer months and plenty of ground to get your morning exercise in!
There is excellent seafood in nearby Calabash and we loved take out and a romantic night in with dinner from the Boundary House! « less
