I stayed here for a long weekend. Check in went smoothly and I was given an option of what floor I'd like to stay on. I picked the 8th floor and I got a corner suite that had views to outside. The room is huge. There is so much space in there. The bedroom is completely separate from the living room area. The living room had two couches that were also huge. There is a fridge and coffee maker along with a nice sized table for eating. There is a large flat screen tv in the living room area also that rotates out. The bedroom also has a flat screen tv. The bathroom was large too. The decor is modern and feminine. I think this hotel was a good choice for the money. I was a little concerned about other reviews saying that you could hear music and guests from your room. I did not have this problem. It was very quiet during my stay. I would stay here again. Parking is expensive ($18 for self parking) as other reviewers have stated but there really aren't any other options for parking. The other bonus is that the Galleria is just across the street and you can walk to it. « less

Overall this was a good place to stay. Let me say I am a little disappointed after seeing prices in other reviews. We booked for a Friday and Saturday night on Expedia, 2 weeks in advance, and paid $103 per night, which does not sound like much of a deal compared to some others here. The photos of the place don't lie -- it looks exactly like the pics. Modern and sleek, clean and sparkly. I'll have to agree with another reviewer that it felt a little like sleeping in an Ikea store. We were there to shop and hang out in Dallas, and it was a good location for that. Parking is expensive ($18 per night self-park, $24 valet) but parking in this location will be. Did not try the restaurant or bar, but on both nights there were lots of young "beautiful people" in the lobby on their way out for the evening, and then later hanging out at the bar. We were on the 7th floor, facing the exact center of the open air design, and did not hear any noise at all from the lobby or bar even though there were several people there well into the evening. Room was a really good size, and there would be room to mingle if you were having a number of visitors. There was a long couch, a chair, and nice large flat screen TV on the wall that could swivel to face any direction. Beds were comfy but not outstanding. We didn't ask for anything special from the staff, but the service was good and provided with a smile. Two small annoyances for me, both relating to room design: 1) No drawers in the room. I like to "unpack" my clothes, but there was nowhere to store them except to hang in the closet. There was also no foldable stand for the suitcase. So all my undies and accessories had to stay in my suitcase and the suitcase lay on the floor out in the open. 2) Closet was small and extremely close to the bed, so you basically have to sit on the bed in order to open the closet doors. « less

My family booked 2 Junior Suites for a long weekend at the Le Meridien Dallas by the Galleria. I want to score the hotel higher but I can't because they just didn't manage things well and the service was a let down.
To start with the booking process through Starwood was easy and friendly. When we arrived, the hotel had our reservations and all was good. The rooms were large, in good order and the beds were comfortable. We asked for both rooms to be near each other and they were located 2 doors apart. We used the valet parking (it's $18 to park your own car or $24 for valet parking) and that was very convenient. So all good. BUT....then we get to the service levels....
The hotel staff were friendly enough and were willing to be helpful. But in practice, they let themselves down.
1) One of our rooms was meant to be a King. We were told on arrival that there were no Kings available. I didn't accept that and a King Suite was "found". But in reality it wasn't a King bed but a large double. I didn't make a fuss as we were only there for 2 nights and were tired.
2) The carpet in one of the rooms was soaking wet in 2 large areas. This should have been identified and resolved by the hotel cleaning staff (not by us). The hotel's resolution was to bring up a large industrial fan/carpet drying unit while we were out. Unfortunately, they placed it in the wrong place and then failed to collect it during our entire stay.
3) During our second night, we were woken by a rowdy group in the hotel lobby. They were clearly drunk and making a lot of noise from about 12:30am. Unfortunately the hotel staff didn't deal with it. At 2am, they were shouting profanities and slamming doors down the hall. At 2:30am we phone and were told the hotel was aware and dealing with it. Unfortunately they didn't deal with it. At 4am (just as we were getting back off to sleep) the same group were at it again.
To give some context, the layout of the hotel is that all the rooms are around a central atrium so noise at any floor or in the lobby will be heard anywhere in the hotel.
The next day at checkout we asked to speak with the manager as we wanted a refund for the bad night's sleep. It took quite a lot of discussion but this was eventually given. So credit the hotel (a bit) but we'd have preferred that the actually managed the situation during the night.
4) The breakfast buffet was OK. But certainly not value for money. The selection was limited, the fresh fruit wasn't very fresh. I'd classify it as average. Not great but not disastrous. But it was convenient.
Overall, I'd have liked to give the hotel a better rating as there was potential. But they've let themselves (and us) down badly.
I wouldn't recommend the hotel for business travelers as I'm not sure you'll get a good night's sleep. For those on short stays who want to be convenient to the Galleria or North Dallas, it's probably worth a shot. Especially if you get a good price on the rooms. « less

This hotel is disgraceful. I stay in a Starwood hotel on a near weekly basis and this hotel has ended my relationship with Starwood. After checking out I was hit with a $529 charge for stealing a Kleenex box and soap holder, writing 666 on the wall, and smoking. Three ridiculous accusations. The minute I stepped on the floor it reeked of smoke so much that I asked the lady who delivered room service if it was a smoking floor which it was not. The other two accusations I will not dignify with a response. But what made it worse is the charges were added without contacting me and asking what happened and when I spoke to the manager he said he would do nothing about it. I am absolutely disgusted with this hotel and Starwood in general. « less

Our high rating for this hotel is due in part to the fact that we got a great deal on Priceline. That said, however, it's a really nice hotel that we would return to if we ever go back to Dallas (which is doubtful, but never say never). We wanted to be in Addison and this Meridien was perfectly located. The room was very spacious. Previous reviewers mentioned that they weren't treated nicely because the hotel knew they were Priceline or Hotwire customers but we absolutely do not concur. In fact, we requested a King room and because they couldn't accomodate us, they waived the $18/nite parking fee (which is high!), which we thought was super nice of them. In general, the staff was very courteous, polite and accomodating. Very good business center with printer, as well. And it's a two-minute walk to the Galleria (and very close to all the kosher restaurants, which I know is not a draw for most Tripadvisor readers, but I'm just saying). The only negative things I can say is that there were no drawers in the room (for clothes) - or at least we couldn't find them. And the lighting was a little skimpy, with poorly placed switches. Otherwise, very, very nice hotel. « less
