First and foremost the customer service was excellent from the start. When we arrived we were greeted by Tony who made us feel extremely comfortable. Our room was clean and the waffles for breakfast was yummy. When we needed more towels or had problems connecting to wifi, we were accommodated in a very timely manner. The location was excellent we were close to everywhere we wanted to go. « less

I've never been to San Antonio before so this being my first trip in.. Really didn't know where to stay. I looked at several hotels and chose Howard Johnson. The pictures online make the hotel look great but honestly it's pretty run down. Overall the location is great and is fairly clean but the lock on my door hardly works and it looks as tho it's been kicked in a couple times. The Bathroom door is cracked and most of all it has a very muggy smell- maybe like mold? And there's no way to crack the window. Last the Internet doesn't work which isn't crucial to me but was just dissapointed overall. Don't think I would stay here again or at least I could justify it more at a lower price. « less

The location was great. The building and grounds were well maintained and inviting. The gentleman at the front desk was very informative and efficient. We enjoyed our stay and there was nothing that was fatal. We had a problem to start with the internet. I believe it was a momentary event. The hot water pressure, as indicated by the handle, was non-existent. The pressure was nil and the temperature was body temperature. We were just not told that the building was plumbed backward. Everyone was friendly and the rooms were clean. « less
