The good: We stayed in the 2 room suite with big beautiful corner window. Short walk to Chinatown, Safeway is 2 blocks away as is Chipolte. Bed is AMAZING! Staff very friendly - always greet us coming and going. Nice little park across the street. The not so great: Couch has stains and shows lots of wear, big beautiful window - ugh dirty! Not just spotted, but dirty. I might expect this in the yuck weather of winter - but common - it's the 3rd week of May - time for some spring cleaning. The door to bedroom partially blocks bathroom when open and we had it open all the time. The AC unit went out on day 2 of 5. Supposed to be fixed tomorrow. Upon check in we were told the 3rd floor room was all they had available - of course I could have used my points to upgrade to a higher level when I booked....now I know why this is available! The street noise to well after 1am was horrible. I'm looking for ear plugs. And now for what I consider the worst part of my stay....I went to the hot tub after a VERY long day to relax in the hot tub. After just a few minutes I couldn't handle the dad (in the hot tub) yelling at his kids doing cannon balls in the pool....not for doing cannon balls but for something stupid.....I was DONE. This was no fault of the hotel. But just a huge irritant I had to complain about. I was told Metro was about 2 blocks....WELL not really more like 4+ and if it were just me that would be OK, but pushing my 79 yr old mother in a wheel chair......it was a but much at times. I might stay here again, but not with my mother with me. « less

This hotel is a five minute walk from Union Station. It is in a revamped area called NOMA, felt very safe and has a trendy feel to it. The hotel is new with a modern edge. Rooms are spacious with refridgerator. There is both a gym and indoor pool. It has a supermarket, Starbucks and good eats in the same block. Metro is just around the corner. Valet parking is $35 but there is plenty of street parking overnight and we found a lot across the street which we moved our car into every day for $8. We will definitely stay here again. « less

Dear jrandjiggy,
I love your review – it sums us up quite nicely. Everybody loves the grocery store next door and the Starbucks across the street, as well as the restaurants nearby with family-friendly prices. Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review, and please come back soon! Sincerely,

Stayed here on a quick trip to DC for business. Although it's still up and coming I really liked the area and the proximity to groceries, food, and public transportation. The staff were very friendly and met all my expectations. Food in the restaurant was OK, maybe just a little over priced and not much selection. However, the waitress did tell me about an off menu item when I didn't see what I wanted. I felt safe in the hotel and for the most part walking to the subway station. If you're not using an expense account for business I imagine the $30/day parking fee probably hurts. It's a great hotel and one I will stay at again when coming to DC on business. « less

Dear JimRector, Thank you for staying with us, and for posting your nice review. Our neighborhood really is up and coming as you mentioned. We opened our hotel 2 years ago in response to the explosive growth in the “NoMa” neighborhood. It seems like every day a new restaurant or shop is opening nearby. I am sorry that you found our restaurant a bit pricey – but I appreciate the feedback, and will share it with our chef, Todd Gray, to make sure we keep things affordable. Thanks again for your strong review and I look forward to welcoming you again soon!

The hotel itself was great. Very friendly staff that tried their best to accommodate our every need, especially when we were rushed for time when checking out!
We arrived after 3pm, our room was not yet ready but it was ready within 20 minutes. We were in DC for the cherry blossoms so we left our things in our room and then went to explore the city.
I felt that the hotel is pretty far from the more touristy areas of the city, however it was about 2 blocks from the metro - which was extremely easy to use. We came in with Amtrak, which was two metro stops away from the hotel!
Across the street from the hotel is a nightclub, but we didn't really hear any noise from it despite the long line of people trying to get in.
We stayed for one night and in the morning we went down to the pool for about an hour and then had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. They had an amazing breakfast buffett for about $12.99 with lots of options to pick from.
There isn't a whole lot of places to eat near the hotel and a lot of them close early. There is a great super market right on the corner if anyone is looking to buy bottled water or snacks for cheaper.
The pool area was clean, lounge chairs were all out with towels on each. The pool itself is a bit small and does share the same area as the hot tub. Despite its size it was great to relax in!
Big plus: rooms had an empty min-fridge and microwave for your use. « less

Dear BetterThanEzra,
Thank you for your detailed and positive review. It sounds like you covered a lot of territory during a short visit. We are very happy to hear that you found our staff friendly and enjoyed our breakfast. We are actually located just one stop away from Union Station on the subway system - - and the metro stop is located really right around the corner from our hotel, as you mentioned. We find that most of our guests are able to walk to the tourist sites near the US Capitol Building, Supreme Court and things on the east end of the mall. But you’re right – for sites on the western side of the mall, it is quicker to just jump on metro, and you’re there in just 3 stops! Thank you again for your 5-star review, and I hope we will see you again for Cherry Blossoms next year, if not sooner!

This hotel is a very nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and upscale. We checked in late i booked 2 rooms they did honor my request to have rooms next door to eachother. Everything in the hotel was great. Parking was expensive they only had valet parking at 30.00 a night. Another thing is that there is this night club accross the street and it attracts some strange people. Its in an up and coming area when this club shuts down i think this hotel is going to florish. « less

Dear Scorpionking 14,
Thank you for staying with us, especially with 2 rooms, which I am happy to hear that we reserved next door to each other as you requested. You are not our first reviewer to mention parking. We know it is about as much fun as paying to take luggage on a plane, but I do promise you that our rates are below average compared to most downtown properties! And we are working hard with all of the residents in the apartments and condos nearby to ensure the club across the street operates in a peaceful manner. Thank you again for staying with us, and for your positive review. Please return again soon! Sincerely,
David Del Russo General Manager david.del.russo1@hilton.com
