BUT they did not honor the AAA member parking agreement. I made the reservation though AAA Travel Services which promised us a $10.00 per day parking rate. They instead told me at checkout the rate did not apply to my reservation. I asked to speak to the Manager on Duty (MOD) only to be told there was not a MOD on duty at 8:30 AM on a Saturday morning. I was promised the MOD would call me to follow-up that morning when they arrived, I never received a follow-up call from anyone at the hotel. They submitted their 'price' to my credit card. Now I have to contest it through AAA Travel Services.
On an end note, when checking out the staff asked my girlfriend if she would like a cup of coffee, she responded yes. She was then given a cup of coffee and then told the cost was $3.30, Starbucks in DC does not even charge that much!! She paid them and upon drinking the cup of coffee, found coffee grinds in it! Not a very good way to end a stay. « less

Check in was fast and simple, and we were appreciative that they let us check in early, as we got to DC earlier than expected. We had a huge room, which we believe was an accessible room, and it was perfect for our 2 night stay. Location is great, only about a 10 minute walk from the White House. The hotel lobby was constantly busy, but our room was quiet and great. Would happily stay there again. « less

Was there for about 5 days on a business trip, shared room with a co-worker. When the front desk staff found out I was having a roommate they moved me up to a larger room. People working there are excellent - all friendly and helpful. The room itself WAS large, with a kitchenette on entering, and clean, but the bathroom was tiny! It was one of those bathrooms where opening the door you were worried you were going to hit the sink. I am petite to average size and felt a little cramped in the shower stall since it wasn't even full-size really for that. The room service menu was pretty boring. Bedbug check was negative but the bed was too soft for me. The hotel itself is a little less than a mile from the Convention Center and a nice walk there. So room-wise the place really needed an update and reworking of the space available, but I gave it four stars because of location, cost, and the great staff there. « less

This was a last minute booking. We arrived at the hotel and Kingsley was there to welcome us once again and give us a nice room. He was recently promoted as the Front Desk supervisor. The beacon is nice hotel with down to earth staff. They are very helpful. The rooms are all nice especially the suite. « less
