We were booked into this Westin as part of a pre-cruise package. Check-in was so-so, we sought some help at the bell stand and an employee totally interrupted our conversation. The room was OK, except the large desk/entertainment center was missing a large strip of veneer from its front. It looked pretty terrible. What REALLY caused me to downgrade this hotel happened the next morning. The bell stand was supposed to pick up our luggage by 10:30. 11 a.m. came and went -- so we lugged it downstairs on our own. Partly due to the hotel and the transportation company, chaos ruled in the Westin lobby. It wasn't pretty! « less

We returned to the Westin LAX after a horrible night at a horrible hotel the night before. We'd stayed there on a previous trip and we knew that we could count on the Westin for a great night's sleep at a great hotel.
Check in was fast & the staff was very friendly as usual. The rooms were quiet, and clean, the beds & bedding wonderful, with fluffy pillows. Loved the new dual showerheads. Our friends liked their room as well. It was the best night's sleep we had all weekend.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for a 3rd time. « less

This was my second time spending a night at this Westin just before an early LAX departure. The front desk staff is personable and professional. The shuttle was convenienient as well, and the rooms had the lovely Heavenly Bed and Shower. My only disappointment was that the pool closes early and the Starbucks cart (for which I was given coupons) opens late. I would still come back though! « less

For such a high end place, I'm still at awe how this property still charges for the smallest amenities and yet gives you a "rebate" for reusing your towels. The property is rather easy to locate at night when the logo is well lit. Staff is very friendly, but during late nights, trainees should not be checking in guests from the VIP queue. She was very nice, but rather green with the Starwood procedures. After some haggling, we were able to get on the quiet executive floor... thank goodness it was a weekend, so the executive breakfast room is not in service.
Same cookie-cutter amenities as with all Westin properties. For a city without good public transport, you would think they would include free parking for guests. Sadly, we got a sticker shock upon checkout when the parking is $25 a day. I wish they disclosed this upon checking in. « less
