This was my second time staying at the Aqua Lotus hotel while visiting Waikiki. My first stay was with my husband when we flew down to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We were treated so wonderfully, the room was amazing and comfortable that when we decided to take another trip to Oahu I did not hesitate to book again with the aqua lotus. I am so glad we did book again with them, because my stay the second time around was just as memorable and wonderful as the first time! This is now officially my home away from home when I go visit Waikiki. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a fantastic, relaxing and memorable trip. You will feel like family and royalty all in one while staying at this hotel. « less

We chose Aqua Lotus because of Trp Advisor reviews. Service is excellent, goes beyond getting the job done. For example, twice I had to have documents printed and by the time I called the front desk to see if they got my email, they were already doing the printing. We had a corner room which is larger than standard, and it was one of the most roomy hotel rooms we have ever had, anywhere. We did not have a rental car in Oahu so had not only our luggage but golf bags and still there was plenty of room to keep everything stored neatly and out of the way. The restaurant was closed for an impending remodel, but the hotel served a variety of breakfast items starting at 6 am and all at reasonable prices. We took advantage of the dining options at the New Otani hotel next-door. The only drawback with the Lotus is that the only good way to get to "the action" in Waikiki is walking......which we did.......and it was a nice stroll. But for someone with mobility issues, it might be a bit out of the way. The Lotus was clean, quiet, well-appointed and with all-around high level of service. Where else has a custodian ever thanked me for staying at his hotel? That level of pride in execution was evident throughout. « less

Let me start with the fact that I am in the hospitality business. That being said, I would be proud to have any of the Aqua Lotus staff work for me. Upon arrival there was a misunderstanding regarding the requested room. The attending bellman, wish I could remember his name, went to the front desk to resolve the issue. It was addressed quickly and without any argument. I live in a rural area and the quieter end of Waikiki work well for my husband and I. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable and the decor pleasant. Although not directly on the beach, it is a very short stroll to a uncrowded beach with calm, clear water (who needs a pool, you're in Hawaii). A short walk through the park and pass the aquarium is the hustle and bustle of Waikiki Beach with dozens of restaurants. I have already recommended the Aqua Lotus to others and look forwarded to returning someday. Great Job!!!!! « less

I got this tip from a family friend, that the Aqua Lotus was the place to stay. I will be back: it's out of the wildness of Waikiki with perfect views of Diamond Head and across from the enormous Kapiolani Park. I could easily get to the fun on the famous beach, but I wasn't in the swirl, a perfect fit for me. The small property was excellent, although they do need to fix the bearings on the elevator door -- it grinds like mad with every open and close and can be heard in the quiet. Rooms were very nice, and it was just right for me.
The lobby had a big carafe of icewater with mint or fruit in it in the afternoon, and the rooms had very sophisticated espresso machines, although the instructions were kind of hard to understand and in general those "pod" machines make awesome coffee but lots of waste, so it's a luxury but a bit too much. (I liked it but wouldn't own one.) The lobby also had lovely koa panels and tasteful decor, and was very small so it felt like a living room. « less
