I stayed there a couple times myself, and the staff were amazing; the room was clean and all. The food was also great; no complaints here. The question is what do the employess do now???....some have been there over 15 years and counting?? I just feel so sorry for those individuals. You all seem to not care about the whereabouts of the staff/employees thats there, which is very sad; and they keep the place going!!That seem a bit too much selfish on your part, but its very sad to see the place go because i use to look forward to visiting around vacation time in the summer months. « less

Management response from gminva, General Manager
Dear Totley3,
Thank you for the kind words regarding our hotel and more specifically the staff here. While it certainly isn't the ideal situation for our team we do have help. The area hotels, timeshares, & restaurants have all reached out to our HR here to help absorb our team into their respective operations. The College has reached out to try and pull people into their programs where appropriate. We've been pushing all that out to our employees in the hopes that they can move straight from our hotel to the next opportunity. Our company has put together packages to try and help bridge the gap between our closing and their commencement of new employment. The management here has helped our team members with resumes, applications, and basic job hunting skills. In short we're doing everything we can to take care of the family we've built here.
All that doesn't remove the sadness that the family here is breaking up nor the fact that this change is inevitable. However all the letters & emails from our guests thanking us for our efforts over the years, expressing their sympathy, and sharing treasured moments & memories has been amazing. I will share your words with the team, and I appreciate you sharing them with me.
Yours truly, Steve Dees

There is no doubt that the Ho House is starting to appear a little frayed along the edges, but given that it has been sold to William and Mary for college housing in Fall 2013, this was not surprising. Even so, it was clean, parking is free, and it's a 5 min walk to Merchant Square in Colonial Williamsburg. I will miss this property, as it was one of the closest to the "Burg" and at $100 a night it was a steal. Bye bye Hospitality House... « less

"Kudos to Jackie, and many thanks to your service. I never would have known about that particular hotel, and even if I eventually did find it, it would have taken me days to accomplish what I did in 15 minutes with you. Now our entire group can look forward to a care-free stay at the perfect rate at the perfect location. I've never been this organized this far in advance of an event, so thanks for making me look good!" K.S. - Vancouver, WA
"It has been great, just put in the all my information and wait for the bids to come. I didn't have to spend hours driving around town to get quotes. I give your site an A+!" A.R. - Schaumburg, IL
