We really enjoyed our time in Williamsburg! 3 Sisters Pizzeria was delicious and did a great job accommodating our late delivery, which was especially helpful for our group. The Jamestown Settlement was both fun and educational. Our students especially loved exploring the ships and the interactive Powhatan village, which brought history to life. Colonial Williamsburg was another highlight. It was enjoyable to walk through the historic area and engage in conversations with the costumed interpreters, who made learning about history interesting and memorable.

I've lived in Williamsburg since 1988. I love the historically area whenever I can get there, the restaurants are good, and it has been homeless for almost long time. I was even amazed at how different the police are in Williamsburg and James City County, as opposed to the ones in Newport News, especially in dealing with the homeless. I'd rather be in Williamsburg/James City County any day of the week.

There's no downside to Williamsburg. The history is unmatched, the people are so friendly, the city is so well maintained, there are plenty of military-friendly places to visit, and there is so much that the area has to offer. It's a short drive to Yorktown and Jamestown, which offer gorgeous Chesapeake bay views, museums, eateries, and more. Colonial Willaimsburg is an absolute must if you're in the area--and it's enticing to those who aren't as interested in the history of it--there's a lot of fun shopping to do in Colonial Williamsburg too. Christmas in Williamsburg is unmatched for a classic Christmas-feel with horse-drawn carriage rides down Duke of Gloucester Street (which, by the way, is a year-round experience), tons of Christmas caroling, and gorgeous classic decorations.
