Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown all make up some of Virginia's most popular historic tourist sites. Some of Williamsburg's most popular activities are historic areas like the Governor's Place, Bassett Hall, and the Colonial National Historic Park. When to Visit Williamsburg, Virginia
Williamsburg is beautiful in every season, and no matter when you visit you'll experience many fun historical activities. That being said, Williamsburg's peak season is summer when kids are out of school. If you do need to visit in summer, aim for June when the weather isn't as scorching. Fall is gorgeous in Virginia, and if you visit in October you'll catch some lovely fall foliage. Crowds won't be at summertime levels, but other foliage hunters may cause a bump in tourism. Winter will have the lowest hotel rates, and if you can stand chillier temperatures, just imagine how lovely Colonial Williamsburg looks under pure white snow.

Williamsburg, VA summarized
Colonial Williamsburg is an essential stop for anyone fascinated by American History. The city provides 21st century tourists numerous intricate details on what the capital of Virginia may have looked like in the 18th century. Although tourists may have to purchase a ticket to see most of the restored buildings, Williamsburg's historic area is always open. Guests can stroll around freely across the green commons and down the cobblestone pavements. The Duke of Gloucester Street has some of the best places for sightseeing, as it is complete with a mock historic shopping center, William and Mary Campus, and a Wren Building. The historic district is filled with buildings from the 18th century. The Episcopalian Bruton Parish Church is the first among the series of well-preserved architecture, which has served as a tourist spot long before it gained historic stature. The real treat is the Capitol, an architectural highlight that serves as Virginia's monumental edifice. The gift shops surrounding it have been restored as silversmiths, cobblers, and apothecaries. But if you want authentic thrills brewed by generations, head to Chowning's Tavern, an alehouse that serves live entertainment each night.
