"Any port in a storm" applies to my choice of this hotel. We were doing a girl's weekend: spa, shopping, swimming. We had booked a cheaper hotel in the shopping Mecca of Southridge, only to find the pool closed for repairs. Because a pool was integral to our weekend, I frantically searched Tripadvisor before the deadline at the other hotel. Embassy Suites only had a king suite left, relegating me to a sofa bed. I figured the pool would be worth the sacrifice. I figured wrong. A sports event was in town & the hotel was filled with teens & parents & coaches. At check-in the desk clerk literally had to clear away large groups of jocks (just chatting there for some reason) so that I could get to the desk. Check-in was pleasant, & I was upgraded to a premium room as an Honors Gold Member. They also gave me a late checkout, after saying no more were available because of my gold status- nice! However the lobby & pool were crawling with people- loud competitive people. We were pleased to retreat to a quiet spacious suite. The sofa bed was ok, but was not queen as I had been told- my feet kept hanging over... The room was clean & attractive. No tub! So disappointed in that. Parking is always horrid here-they need valet parking, but luckily I got a spot in the minuscule parking lot. The parking building beside is not safe for a woman traveling alone. I would not recommend this hotel to lone women drivers for that reason. A friend arriving late had to park there & walk along a side walk by herself in the dark & the rain. They need to solve this problem! Every Encounter with the staff was pleasant. Breakfast was with hundreds of jocks... The food was ok, but not the best day to judge them. I could mot get near the made to order omelet station & the buffet was pretty empty. i never saw anything but stacks of plates refilled. If there is not a major kids event, this would be a lovely place to stay. « less

I was told this was the nicest place to stay, but very disappointed. The hotel building and set up was nice. However, the carpeting is very dirty, I say this only because my feet turned black after walking on the carpet in the room. I was not happy to find out there was no bathtub, only a shower and a very poor one at that. It was very small and the water pressure was terrible, it was as if the water was just a heavy sprinkle. The food from the restaurant was disgusting and not fresh. In most hotels internet is included, but here it is $9.99 per day which is ridiculous. Paying for parking is something I understand since this hotel is in downtown. However, $12.00 a day is way overpriced. Overall, this is not worth the price you pay and will not be returning or referring anyone here. « less

This hotel has a very nice lobby. Free newspapers are provided. Lots of counter space in the bathroom, which almost every girl can appreciate. They have Crabtree and Evelyn products in the bathroom so it's ok if you forget to pack shampoo, soap, or lotion. The bed is comfortable enough for a solid night's sleep. The continental breakfast is pretty impressive. Parking is a bit of a pain. Only a few spots in the front, and a lot in the parking garage behind the hotel. The parking garage isn't connected to the hotel so you have to walk outside to it. The hotel is right across from the mall. « less
