I had a seminar to attend at this hotel, and we decided to take the kids and spend a few extra days. We booked a suite and caught a short taxi ride over from Reagan Airport. Check in was smooth and easy and the room was great. 17th floor with a nice view of the Pentagon, Arlington Cemetery, the Air Force Memorial and, in the distance, the Washington Monument and the Capitol. Nice. Actually walking distance from the Pentagon Memorial. Our bed was of good sleep quality, and the fold out couch for the kids was just fine. A very nice, bright, large room. Clean and pleasant.
But the service here is what really shined for us. Super friendly everyone. I was never able to actually open a door! This was a top down characteristic. Made our stay that much more delightful.
Breakfast was fairly buffet oriented, but it was a good buffet. Pentagon City is kind of a weird place. Largely shopping malls, chain restaurants, and, of course, the Pentagon.
A special word is warranted for the concierge staff. They shined brightly amongst an already stellar group. Jamal and Baboa, in particular, helped set us up last minute each night that we were there. Thanks guys! « less

My room was not ready when we arrived. We had reserved two double beds which is part of our profile. They had a king room reserved. We had food items that we to be in the room upon arrival, they were not. I suspect that the items were delivered to the first room. I physically went to the front desk twice and brought this to the attention of both the front desk and the concierge. I was told that the items were on there way. After waiting over one hour, I canceled the items.
This is well below the standard of service that I would expect from a Ritz Carlton or Marriott Brand. I was not offered any apology or accommodation.
The property is attached to an amazing mall. Shop till you drop. All the high end stores and more. Accessible to everything in the area. All and all, a a great place to stay , but lacking in service. « less

Impressed with the welcoming atmosphere at the Ritz upon arrival. After a lengthy international flight, we found the hotel a true oasis during a busy graduation weekend. The doorman, front desk, concierge, and maids helped make our stay more than comfortable. We were treated to fresh coffee in the lobby in the morning, and sparkling wine in the evening. This will certainly become our home base during future trips. « less

Stayed at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City for three nights as part of a conference last week. From the moment we stepped out of the taxi, we were treated like royalty. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, calling us by name and always asking how our day was. One evening we were studying the metro map and Ryan walked up and said, Where you going tonight? He told us how to get to our restaurant and a fabulous bar to go to for cocktails with the best view in DC. The next day was the Mother's Day Grand Buffet. I desperately wanted to go, but they were fully booked. Ryan was in charge of this event and magically, he worked us in and we had a fabulous buffet. Oysters, crab claws, shrimp, sushi, scallops, NY strip etc. The location was great, adjacent to a mall so we could easily grab a quick cheap breakfast, and the metro was right across the street. Our room was lovely and very clean. Absolutely no complaints. It might be hard to stay at another hotel chain after being so spoiled! « less

Loved this hotel! We were part of a conference but chose to upgrade to the Club level and it was truly a treat to experience and well worth the additional charge.. Although we had a glitch checking in, the staff could not have been friendlier, more attentive or more apologetic and went beyond any normal expectation to make things right. Housekeeping manager Ana, saved the evening for me with her personal service. And everyone involved in the Club lounge from early morning to late at night was gracious and again personally attentive. It was obvious long term relationships between guests and hotel staff have developed in the Lounge...everyone was treated like returning family. Rooms were comfortable, perhaps could use some refreshing but truly the outstanding quality of this hotel is the incredible staff...right down to the bartenders during the banquets who tracked me down to keep my champagne glass full while others drank wind. need I say more? « less
