You know what to expect when you do a lot of traveling and frequently stay in Hampton properties. This was no exception, it was pretty much the typical Hampton. The room was clean and adequate, the hotel itself was a bit crowded but above average in cleanliness and presentation. The workout room was better than most Hampton Inns, and the breakfast was pretty standard. The only issue I had was that it seemed there was much more ambient noise (both from the nearby Marine Air Station) from outside and from adjoining rooms (especially the room above mine). It was also a bit difficult to spot the entrance to the hotel from the main road, the sign was obscured by a tree. So look for the Waffle House, and turn into the road right there if you don't see the sign. « less

First of all, very unorganized and unprofessional at the check in desk. After 15 min, finally got our room key. We unpacked and went to a late lunch. When we came back pulled bed back to lie down and flung an alive bug. Immediately called desk and they said "oh my". At first we considered changing rooms but quickly changed mind and decided to check out. One bug might mean bugs in other rooms also. When checking out they did assure us of reimbursement of charge. When I asked what they were going to do about this inconvience, a very arrogant manager said "nothing", we lose a customer, so we lose too." I have never been treated so badly at an hotel. I will write a letter/email to someone higher up at Hampton. « less

During my stay, I became very ill to the point I needed to go to the ER. I asked my nine year old son to call the front desk - the first calls went unanswered. Finally, he got through and asked if they had a shuttle to the ER. When they said no, he asked them to call a taxi. The staff member told him "The information is in the book." My poor son was traumatized. His mother is crying and curled up on the bed and an adult whom he just asked for help did not help him, plus there was NO taxi information in the book. The staff member did not call our room back, nor did they walk up to our room and knock on the door. I was able to get to the ER, no thanks to the staff, and was given the help I needed. I later checked out of the hotel due to my medical condition. I called on Monday, May 6th and spoke with the manager who told me "I was under the impression the young man was in the room himself." As if this makes it better?! In fact, that is a WORSE scenario! The manager told me Monday, he would explore the situation and get back to me within 24 hours. It has been 72 hours and I have not heard back from him. I submitted this incident via the automatic survey and will be following up with formal correspondence as well. « less
