We recently stayed at the Ambassador for a few days in connection with a sightseeing trip to KC. The hotel, a former bank, is a hidden gem with large rooms furnished in understated modern tones, with very comfortable beds Rooms have wall safes and complementary bottled water and coffee makers. The staff is exceptional. Prices are reasonable and we recommend the Bed & Breakfast Package w/parking. )Self-parking, for $15/night is available in a secured outdoor lot adjacent to the hotel.) The Reserve Restaurant has an excellent kitchen, an attentive, accommodating staff and very reasonable prices (i.e. $10 for breakfast entrees). The only knock on the hotel is that bathrooms have sliding doors that don't latch and they have a tendency to open on their own. Downtown KC is fairly barren and there are lots of seedy looking characters around the area, but the hotel is two blocks from the arena and a large restaurant and entertainment complex. From the hotel, it's only 15 - 20 minutes to Kauffman Stadium & Arrowhead Stadium and KCI and 5 minutes to the Jazz and Negro Leagues Baseball Museums. « less

Highly recommend the Ambassador Hotel, my girlfrend and I stay there and our room was huge, even with the two queen size beds, really big and luxurious! The bathroom was equally big with two sinks opposite each other, a massive shower plus extra room, largest bath I have ever had at a hotel. Every aspect of the hotel was high style and quality that we experienced, from the very chic lobby, rooms, restaurant, etc; plus coffee and cookies when we arrived home at 11pm. We bought the bed and breakfast package and got free parking, breakfast, free transportation to our convention and back, and all for a reasonable rate. The hotel is very close to Sprint Center and Power and Light District, so fun weekend for a couple or group of friends. The pictures on the web site are true to what you experience when you arrive, I would suggest you give it a try, you will love it! Would be fabulous for a romantic weekend! « less

Stunning hotel ...loved the history of the building, stylish renovation of public spaces and the large, comfortable and beautifully appointed guest rooms. Both the wait staff and hotel staff were superb and professional in appearance and service -- similar to what one would experience at a fine hotel in large U.S. and European cities. Great bar food and excellent selection of wines – bottle or by the glass and the best Russian Mules and Manhattans!!! And jazzy live music in the bar on one of the nights of our stay. Good location in the heart of KC -- easily accessible to museums, shopping, restaurants, jazz clubs, and other KC entertainment venues.
Overall a most memorable experience. We will definitely come back. « less

Amazing location! We went to the annual Kansas City Burlesque Festival at The Folly Theater which is only a couple of blocks away. We used the Ambassador shuttle service which was fast and runs until 11pm. The Power & Light district is down the street. The room was clean, comfortable and beautifully designed. From the moment we checked in the staff was friendly and knowledgable. This is EXACTLY what I expect when I go to a hotel - perfection and service! « less
