We reserved the executive suite with a 3 pm arrival. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 330. We went over to the park meadows mall for a wedding gift and returned at 430. Still not ready! 445, we were able to check in.
The staff was very polite during the delay. Offering a nights credit.
Once in, the facility was very nice and worth waiting for.
The exercise room was perfect. Continental breakfast very good and healthier than most.
The room was very modern and well set for technology.
And, nicely, the room was not carpeted but rather one of those new rubberized wood floors. Nice shower too! (who needs a tub) « less

Apparently if you are a Starwood Preferred Guest you are going through a "3rd party" to make your reservation so even though the other half of my party got the room for 1/2 price of what I paid they would not change my price. And then my sister accidentally left her Kindle plugged in the room and the front desk couldn't care less! It would've been so easy to go check the room to grab it but they won't! Make sure you take all your items from the room...otherwise you won't see them again. So disappointing. « less

Front desk personnel will not try to resolve issues with booking that may come up...even if the customer clearly has a reservation. I was at the hotel's front desk area from 7:15 pm with my two young kids to 8:45 pm. And the front desk personnel, first doubted that I had a reservation. Then when I showed him, my email reservation confirmation, he then said that there was no payment information and that the reservation was unconfirmed. Even after the booking service called him and re-faxed all the information....he kept saying that it wasn't in his system. In general, staff especially front desk are so rigid that they will not work with the customer. I even showed him my bank account information - that showed that the money had been taken out. But this guy stuck with his point...which I suppose was..".IT WASN'T IN HIS SYSTEM." But I was in his system, he has showed me the faxes he received from the booking agency. Eventually, I cancelled the reservation because the front desk refused to accommodate me. But the front desk offered me the walk in rate, a higher rate of course. I quickly decided (it didn't take me forty five minutes) that I didn't want to be in the "element's" (at Park Meadows) system. Later that Night I booked the Marriott Park Meadows and was check in after five minutes.I had made the reservation five minutes before that with the same reservation service. « less

Upon arriving before check in time, I was told that check in time was at 3:00 and that there would be no rooms available prior to 3:00. I indicated that it seemed implausible that cleaning of all 140 rooms would simultaneously conclude at 3:00. They assured me that there would be no rooms - I have Platinum status with Starwood and have never encountered such poorly trained employees. Then after sitting in the lobby for 4 hours trying to work, at 3:00 they indicated my room on the second floor was ready. This is completely out of character with my starwood profile. Eventually they put me into a room that met my profile, but this took explaining how to do so. The room I received, and the original room they tried to give me, both overlook a busy freeway. I would have thought that as a top tier starwood customer they would have at least booked me into the side of the hotel that looked out on the mountains. This element certainly does not meet the brand promise. Will never stay here again, and will not likely choose element for any future stays. « less

I am a Starwoods Rewards member and this was the only hotel in/near Denver that we could cash in on a free night stay. (for the hotels directly in Denver we would have needed more points) Given that, there is really nothing to complain about. This hotel would be great for longer trips as the rooms have a nice little kitchen. Really nicely thought about touches through out. This hotel is in a great area if you do not have to be directly in the heart of Denver. Just a skip from downtown and home to plenty of good restaurants, mall, Ikea, DSW, etc... Nice safe and clean area. My only two quirks are 1.) The indoor pool was heated but still not warm enough for me to swim. I hate when hotels have "heated" pools and I get all excited and it turns out it is a bit too cold to my liking. 2.) Do not buy any of the food in the snack area!! My husband and I were lazy and grabbed a bag of chips and dip. You do not pay until check out. Turns out that they charged us $7 for the bag of chips & $5 for the dip!! I was like this is crazy. Sooo, my two quirks are not that bad. The hotel is a great value although do not expect the richness and luxe of the other Starwood Hotel brands. Oh, I almost forgot! They have a free breakfast buffet! It's not the best I've had but it sure is not the worst either. Bottom line, would I stay there again? Well, probably not (unless I need another "free" room with my points). But that does not mean it is not perfect for you! I am a hotel snob (hello "W" is more my style). Happy travels! « less
