Thanks to its location near the intersection of I-25 and C-470 and its proximity to Denver, Lone Tree offers visitors easy access to a wide range of entertainment and outdoor recreation options. Denver's RTD light rail system make getting to the big city simple. When you stay in Lone Tree, you'll be just a short drive away from everything Colorado's capital has to offer, including major-league sporting events, world-class performances, the Denver Zoo, several large museums, and various other attractions.

Outdoor adventurers will find plenty of things to do no matter what time of year they visit. Rocky Mountain National Park is only an hour and a half away and offers several day hike options. During the winter, visitors can enjoy one of the several ski resorts that are within an hour or two of Denver.

Of course, Lone Tree boasts plenty of attractions and amenities within its own city limits too. You don't have to leave Lone Tree to find excellent shopping, entertainment, and recreational options.

When to Visit Lone Tree, CO

If you want to plan your trip to Lone Tree around the weather, late May to early October offers the ideal weather. Average temperatures fluctuate throughout the year, with summer months being the warmest. December, January, and February are the coldest months, with average highs in the mid-40s and lows in the upper teens. During the shoulder months of March through April and October through November, temperatures range from the upper 20s and mid-30s to the upper 50s and mid-60s.

Keep in mind that due to the summer break and sunny weather, Lone Tree will be most crowded during the months of May, June, and July. That means there will be fewer hotel rooms available, and rates will be higher. If you plan to visit during the peak season, be sure to book your hotel well in advance for the best deal. Flights to the area also tend to cost more during these months. If you want to strike a good balance between comfortable weather and affordable prices, consider visiting during the spring.

Of course, you may be visiting Colorado with the intention of skiing. If that's true, then planning a trip for mid- to late October or January is your best bet; the snow will be deepest during these months. However, there should also be some snow on the ground during February, March, April, November, and December. In terms of tourism, November is Lone Tree's slowest month, which means better deals on hotels.

For better or worse (depending on your point of view), Lone Tree doesn't get much precipitation throughout the year. In fall and winter, Lone Tree averages one to four days of significant precipitation per month. For spring and summer, that number rises to two to six days per month.
