We stayed at the Comfort Inn during a short visit to Salem. The hotel was close to I-95 and a short drive to Salem. The staff was friendly, attentive, speedy, and gave us directions since our GPS died. Parking was free and convenient. Our room was adequate, clean, and tidy. This room had a good amount of storage space with a fridge and unbelievably, a microwave. The bedding was clean and very comfortable with plenty of pillows-a Comfort Inn trend. This room did have a work space. There was Wi-Fi available throughout for free. Good coffee was always available in the lobby. Breakfast had a lot of variety. There was no real negative. Would have been nice to open a window. I would have no hesitation about staying at this Comfort Inn again. « less

We stayed here over Patriots' Day weekend/start of school spring break week so we knew it would be busy. It was a convenient location to go over to Salem for one day and Boston the next. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We got a room on the main (2nd) floor. This worked out great because our goddaughter loved being able to walk just a short distance down the hall to the breakfast room to make her own Belgian waffles each morning. Also, because the breakfast room was quite busy, it was easy to just bring our free breakfasts back to our room to eat. We had a room with a comfortable king-size bed and an equally comfortable rollaway bed for goddaughter. We appreciated the sweet touch of the housekeeper when we arrived back at the end of the day and she had tucked in goddaughter's teddy bear:) The pool is down one floor from the main level and has a small but adequate adjacent fitness room. The pool is not large but has a good design with a few different curved areas for a cluster of people to hang out. We used it both in the a.m. and p.m. and rarely had to share it. The water was kept at a comfortably warm temperature and we really appreciated the fact that it is a saltwater rather than chlorine pool. The pool towels provided are small but plentiful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We thought it might be hard to sleep one night with loud voices in the room next door, but the issue resolved itself relatively quickly. Everything worked as it should with room temperature control and water pressure/temperature in the bathroom. There was plenty of parking in the lot and it was only a short walk to the hotel lobby. The area in which the hotel is located was safe and quiet. This is a hotel we would return to for a future weekend getaway! « less

We stayed five nights at this hotel while visiting the North Shore. On the plus side, the room was large and clean, and the front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok, about what you would expect from a value-priced hotel, with eggs, waffles, cereal, fruit, etc. The women staffing the breakfast room were very efficient and kept it well-stocked. The breakfast room itself is quite small for a hotel this size. On two different days there were large groups staying there, and the room was very crowded and noisy. The other problem we had was that the heat in the room would turn on (it was quite cold outside while we were there) and it would get overly warm. Then when the heat turned off, it would get very chilly. Lack of insulation by the sliding doors seems to contribute to the problem. Overall, though, I felt we got good value for the money, in a convenient location. « less

Generally I find Comfort Inns good value for money (and the Comfort Inn at North Conway is an excellent example of this), but it is clear that as a chain there are some hotels they are investing in, and some (like this place) they are definitely not. Externally it looks dire, the architect who designed the entrance should be fired, I could not bring myself to take a photo. The rooms and lobby were actually OK, it has a pool, and the breakfast was standard Comfort Inn fare in a reasonable area. Staff were pleasant, and it was cheap, but it needs a few million spending on the place, or pulling it down. « less

Nice enough but slightly dated. The feeling was that with $400 you could make the room really nice. Helpful staff with exactly what you'd expect for breakfast - yogurt, cereal, waffle-maker etc. There is free WiFi throughout the hotel and and the location is convenient to Route 1 and 128. « less
