To visit the city, you can land at Logan Airport which calls East Boston home. Upon your approach, be sure to look out of the window. One of the most interesting aspects of the airport is that you look as though you're going to land on water as the runway is not visible until you are close to touching down.
While in East Boston, there is a list of 'must-sees':
-Madonna Shrine: the shrine stands on Orient Heights and towers at an astounding 35 feet tall.
-Constitution Beach: locals call this Shay's Beach and it is one of the most popular public beaches.
-Piers Park: from the park you can overlook the Boston Harbor.
-Temple Ohabei Shalom Cemetery: the oldest Jewish cemetery in the state.
After you've seen the sites in East Boston, you can very easily head into downtown Boston via the Sumner and Callahan tunnels and the Tobin Bridge. More recently, residents and tourists have been able to travel back and forth to Boston via the Ted Williams Tunnel which connects the Massachusetts Turnpike to Logan Airport.
