I treated my wife (as usual) to a special Mothers Day weekend, this time I choose the Hilton-Bentley South Beach. And I will say that Debbie Ramsawak and her staff ( and I mean everyone in the Hotel) exceeded our expectations. I would like to mention "Maria" the poolside server was amazing !!! The Hotel is located in the area known as South of Fifth, right next to Nikki Beach club and top notch Restaurants such as PRIME 112, Italian Prime, and on site De Rodiguez Cuba who was a James Beard award winner. The mojitos were great as we arrived by poolside, as well as the Marlin Tacos, which I highly recommend. To cool us off they served frozen grapes in a sugar rimmed champagne glass, very refreshing. The view from the room was breath taking, both of the beach, Fisher Island, even the sight of the Cruise Ships leaving the port, and the Miami skyline , we were upgraded (Hilton Diamond status) to a King suite, so it pays to be loyal to your Hotel brand ! I will add as a business travel, nearly 3 weeks out of every month, worldwide , I only stay in Hilton properties. And this rates as one of the best experiences I have had. The next day we choose to spend it on the beach, the hotel have beach butlers assist you with your lounge chairs and umbrellas, also you may order cocktails and food , that evening we had reservations at De Rodriguez Cuba and again great service and excellent food. If you are considering a South Beach getaway and want something special, this is the place, we will be back very soon!! « less

The staff catered to our every need or desire. The room was awesome with an incredible view of both the ocean and downtown Miami. Only a five minute walk to all the nightlife that South Beach has to offer! We didn't want to leave......I will return here next year!! « less

We stayed at the HBH the night before a cruise departure from Miami. It was a wonderful surprise. We selected the hotel based on membership in the Hilton Honors program and the hotel stay was paid for with points from the program. Our room was a junior suite, complete with a nearly full size kitchen, huge bathroom with jacuzzi and separate shower, and a wrap around veranda with chaise lounges and tables. The room was immaculately clean and had floor to ceiling sliding glass doors on two walls. We did not have an ocean view, but points-users can't be choosers... The hotel had easy access to the beach which we visited the morning before we cruised out of Miami. Hotel staff was helpful and engaging. The restaurant (De Rodriguez Cuba) was alkso fantastic and is separately reviewed. « less

Stayed here with a friend on our first trip to Miami. I would not have payed what it cost to stay at this location, but as HH Gold Member we used points.
The location has its positives and negatives. It's 10 blocks plus from the main area/dining of Ocen Drive/South Beach. This is great because it's quiet and more family oriented, but if you're looking for the South Beach experience I wouldn't recommend staying here.
The beach access is great, but as others have mentioned, can cost up to $30 per person if use a beach chair/umbrella. I understand this for non-Hilton guests, but a little much if you'd like to spend time each day on the beach.
The hours of operating for the bars was interesting. The inside bar was closed during parts of the day while the pool bar was open and the pool bar closed before seven on the weekend. We went up to the bar as it was closing and the bartender informed us we would have to go inside but couldn't because we were in bathing suits and didn't have shoes. As opposed to offering to get us drinks another guest if the pool offered to go in and get them for us.... Much appreciated!
Upon check out there were nearly $150-200 extra in charges on our bill. Vallet for two days we didn't use, multiple beach charges, along with others. The concierge was very helpful and removed the unnecessary/inaccurate charges.
Lastly, breakfast is "complimentary" for HH Members, this only includes the cold breakfast. $5/6 charge per person for the hot breakfast.
Overall, probably wouldn't choose this hotel again. « less
