"Spoiler" alert: if you want a luxury hotel, choose one; Days Hotel is a reliable place to sleep. Located on Rt 322 near Longwood Gardens and the north DE border - we found a nice clean place (not super luxury) to sleep while touring the Brandywine Valley. Formerly a Holiday Inn; the new management seems to have redone and updated the interior and is keeping the exterior maintained well. All desk and housekeeping staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming; there is a nice AM restaurant for breakfast (5.95 for eggs, bacon, toast, homefries) onsite. Room and facilities were very clean, quiet, with good amenities (extra towels, hair dryer, iron, fridge+microwave, etc) and parking is close to hall entrances; room doors are all inside. Some kind of business conference was being held during our stay - but business crowd was not noisy or overwhelming. Entrance / exit traffic was tricky (highway onramp - but NO traffic noise in room), but the local staff offered good suggestions on how to do it safely - note that the area does not discourage U turns. Location is very convenient to the Brandywine historic attractions like Longwood and the DuPont mansions and gardens, and is also close to PA turnpike, I-76 and I-95. There are many familiar local shopping places for grocery and any other needs - a Walgreens even had a kiosk of the typical local souvenir things (t shirts, mugs, etc). An amazing find, and if you don't mind a short drive (15 min to an hr) to Phila/DE/NJ, an excellent deal. « less

Only problem was, coming from a rural area and used to the pitch dark to sleep, we had to pin our curtains closed because the outside lights were too bright in the room and the heavy curtains didn't close all the way. « less
