Pros: Convenient location right off of the Embarcadero in front of Pier 39! Perfect! Room was clean and beds were made with all of the linen that you needed. Everything worked just fine. The front desk agent Evan was very friendly and helpful at check-in. He gave us some points of interest to visit since this was our first time here. Nice guy! He was nice enough to comp a roll-away bed for my daughter since a room with a king was the only one available. Bed was a sleep comfort bed, nice touch!
Cons: Very noisy location. You could hear everyone outside of the hotel at street level talking and yelling, kept me up all night both nights of my stay. Worst part about it was that all of the noise was coming through the AC unit in the wall. The only way I could muffle a little bit of the sound was to place a towel over the AC.....unfortunately it would get a little humid/warm so I needed to turn the AC on, having to remove the towel. Small coffee shop down in the lobby had the worst coffee I have tasted in long time, was burnt and oily(threw away $6 there). Never received the roll-away bed that Evan said he as going to comp for us when we checked in. We ended making due with the king for all three of us. The AC unit would not stay at the temperature I would set it at overnight. I would have to get up in the middle of the night to adjust the temperature again to make it comfortable.
Overall: The fact that we were on vacation at a city we had never been to and were excited to see, all of the other issues weren't as bad. We had a very nice vacation and plan on coming back to San Fran again. To be honest. I'd like to make an attempt to stay at another hotel because of the noise and inconvenience of the AC unit. There is nothing more important than getting your nights rest after a long day of walking the city. Overall, its not a bad place to stay, but it's not the best for comfort...only convenience. « less

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights as a first stop on a US trip. The location was great on fisherman wharf, within walking distance to everything we managed to squeeze in over the 1.5 days we were there. We didn't spend much time in the hotel but we found the room clean and tidy and I thought the beds were great as you could adjust the comfort level with a control. It did seem a bit like a rabbit warren with long corridors and a little tired looking. The reception area was small for a hotel of this size and a little uninviting. The service was ok and the price a little high although you are paying for the location and the brand. « less

We stayed here in May and when we walked into the hotel we were a little disappointed. The reception looked quite worn as did the lifts and corridors. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The room was average but very clean as was the bathroom. Overall the hotel is a good place to stay and very well located in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf. It is a 3 star hotel and although I can't think of anything exciting about the place I certainly can't pick fault with it and would stay here again because of location and price. Average doesn't necessarily mean bad. « less

Overall the hotel was good. The staff were friendly and the room well proportioned. We arrived at 3.20pm and had to wait about 20 minutes for a room to be ready.
My biggest annoyance with this hotel are the elevators. So far as I am aware th we rs are three. Two near the lobby and one at the end of the hotel. The end elevator was the most conveniently placed to my room being at the end of the very long hallway. Unfortunately the dors stick open and required a gentle tap to close. If this isnt done I found that it could be a very long wait. Staff were aware of this but it was "just how it is" to be honest not good enough. So far as the other elevators go they are not connected so you have to push the button for each elevator to call it. This was very inefficient and led to both elevatots coming at different times.
Wifi is free and fast which was also a plus. Happy to recommend however the elevators do need to be fixed. « less
