We stayed one night preceding a cruise and were a little underwhelmed. I had hoped we would discover a stellar hotel since we visit Orange County several times a year to visit family, etc. Unfortunately, this was a tired, though well managed property with spotty service. The included breakfast was the standard formula; eggs, bacon, sausage, bread, pastries and even waffles, so very sufficient. Parking was included which was a nice feature in this neighborhood. Overall, it was reasonably comfortable, but doesn't deserve top billing even for the John Wayne Airport location. « less

We stayed here for 3 nights while working at the OC Pet Expo. When we came back to the room after the first night stay, the maid had been in to clean but she didn't clean out the coffee maker nor did she refresh the coffee supplies. The leftover morning coffee was still there, the filter was still in the coffee maker and she didn't replenish the decaf we had used. The shampoos and other supplies were not replenished either. Beds were made, towels replenished trash empied but that was all. We complained and were told someone would come up right away with more coffee and shampoo. No one ever came that night. The next day we had leftover breakfast and when we came back, the tray of leftovers was still there, the maid didn't clean it up. When we complained about all of this at checkout, the manager claimed the maid service is over at 2 pm so there isn't anyone available to bring the supplies even though the front desk assured us someone would come up that same night. All the manager could say and insist on is that there isn't any service after 2 pm. She kept repeating herself as if we didn't understand what she was saying. Also, the breakfast was poor. I have stayed at several BW's before and have come to expect a nice breakfast. Here, they watched everything you were doing as if you would take something you shouldn't. You had to use paper products, plates, cups, etc, if you were taking the food to your room. And then the maid just leaves everything in the room anyway rather than cleaning it up. I wouldn't stay here again. This area has a good selection of hotels so next year, we'll move elsewhere. « less

I have stayed here 3 times now and each time it has been a great value for the price paid. My room was clean, well appointed and furnished. The Internet worked great, The pool and courtyard was well kept. This is a very nice place to work out of or tour out of. The staff is very nice and efficient. Keep in mind this is not a 5 star hotel. It gets the job done in a very comfortable, well maintained setting. The bed I slept on was very comfortable and not rock hard like many hotel beds. It was however quite new and plush feeling. The sheets are crisp and fresh. The hotel is close to the John Wayne airport and there are restaurant option close by. I prefer to have a car when staying at this hotel but I think there are shuttle bus options available « less

The room was exceptionally nice for the price. You won't find a better deal, esp. when you consider the savings from having breakfast included. The bed was excellent and so was the flat-screen TV, The refrigerator was a little larger than a mini-fridge (larger than a dorm room "cube" fridge). There were a few things that weren't perfect: 1) the WiFi was fairly slow; 2) the fitness center was minimal; 3) the breakfast portion was skimpy (a single sausage patty?) but still it was quite decent. There are several hotels on the "strip" it is located on, and I think this is by far the best value of them all. « less
