Got to the hotel around 11 p.m. Friday night. The valet was awful, did not help with luggage and could barely speak English. The check-in staff was super rude because we booked on Priceline and would not give us a king-size room. The lamp in our room also wouldn't turn off so we had to unplug it from the wall. The staff in the morning was a little nicer, but the valet took forever and was very inefficient. Not going back to this Doubletree. « less

Did not had a good experience. For a good price we expect a good service as well. No free internet($10), no free parking($39) ,Inside room coffee refill was also not provided, when requested at desk, the lady generously said to come down and she will do us a 'favor' of giving some coffee and cream. She also suggested to go and buy the coffee in cafeteria for minimal charge ($2).
Rooms , really not bad for a small stay, but there are few very small things which can make a so so stay , a real great stay. We had two rooms booked and both rooms were not a like. One was spacious other was quite small. One's bathroom was good , other's was so so.
A wending machine and a refrigerator could have been better (7th floor).
Last one tip for customer service: If you see a family coming with kids, at least try to insure the person gets a 2 queen bed room or at least mention you don't have such room. Assigning a room and not making sure the stay will be comfortable or not is not good. A small word saying , you may face some issue with kids on single queen bed room, if you want to upgrade or we don't have any availability right now, shows you care for your customers, specially if you such and old brand in industry.
It is all my opinion based on my experience and it is not meant to hurt or blame any individual. « less

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. We greatly appreciate the input and will share with the team as a training tool. I am sorry you were not made aware of the room type at check in. We do our best to accommodate any guest requests for room types, but I agree that we should always make mention and let the guest chose whether the accommodation will work or not. We do have a variety of rooms at this property based on availability.
I am sorry you didn’t experience our warm , hospitality that we are so famous for. We do hope you and the family had a good time in the DC area and would stop back again to give us another try. We would be pleased to note your reservation profile for room type requests for future stays. We also have inclusive packages with internet. Our parking is priced competitively with parking in the city but we would also be able to make recommendations other parking selections if you would choose.
Thank you for taking the time to bring these items to our attention. We appreciate your time and patience and we hope to see you again soon.
Kind Regards,

When you go beyond the "fancy entrance" you find a one star hotel. It is not good for a hotel of that class to cut expenses and earn the maximum of money just leaning on a very motivated and professional staff. I stayed two nights for business with husband and had barely no room to even walk around the front of the hard bed the furniture was very basic and cheap. Our check in was a mess. We were part of a big group of people and found the hotel completely unprepared for this event. The staff was wonderful doing their best to remedy the total lack of organization of the management. The luggage were packed in a cramped space right in the entrance until 3pm the time for check in. Our room was on the second floor, dirty carpet in the corridor and room, a fridge stayed just outside our door room the whole time. The room was small whit a strong smell of humidity and dark even during the day. I would give to that room with a very basic furniture a grade of a one star hotel. On top of all of this we left our luggage with computers and everything, the day of the check out and they were lost. Nobody knew were they were. The staff again was wonderful trying their best to make up for the lack of staff. Finally after hours of wait, somebody having found our cell phone number in my phone book, called from another group to let us know were our luggage were.
Restaurant food was horrible and apparently it was very difficult (almost impossible) to serve a hot chocolate for breakfast.
Switched hotels...same price, bigger room, across the street. « less

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. Although I am pleased you found the staff friendly and helpful, I sorry you found your accommodations and check in disappointing. We do hope you come back in the future to experience our Double Tree, warm cookie hospitality. We would also be pleased to note your reservation profile for a room type preference on your next visit. We do have several different room types and sizes depending on a guests priority and needs.
I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in our city and we do hope to see you again soon.

Overall clean, updated hotel with courteous and friendly staff. Hotel located within walking distance to the Smithsonian, central mall, National Gallery, etc. Upon entering the hotel room, the space for the bed and desk area was adequate and furnished as expected, but when I opened the bathroom door I discovered a very tiny space making it difficult to maneuver. I travel a lot for business and pleasure and was surprised by the mismatch between the sleeping and bathroom accommodation. « less
