We had the best time in Seattle last week! We were pleasantly surprised by our hotel accommodations. We had a spectacular view of the water, watching the ferry boats come and go. The hotel had a front and rear entrance, so we could cut a 12 a block off our hike each time. The beds were comfy, the pillows so-so and the keroug coffee a treat! The staff was super sweet and always helpful. The only negative that comes to mind is how loud the elevators were. My sister thought it was a thunderstorm (I informed her thunderstorms were rare in the PNW).
Parking was a little pricey (32 a day) but it was very convenient! « less

If you are looking for a comfy place to stay within walking distance of the Pike Place Market, Westlake Center & much, much more this is the place. My husband I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary & were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a suite; the views from the executive suite of the waterfront, the Olympic Mountains & downtown area were spectacular. The atmosphere is very relaxed & the staff was very helpful. We will definitely stay again. « less

Located just 3 blocks from the Monorail Stop and 5 blocks from Pikes Place Market, its within walking distance of many Seattle attractions. The Great Ferris Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium are also within walking distance, but a bit more of a trek. We spent 5 nights here, after 4 other days up north, while my husband attended a conference. Our welcome was less than stellar. The cab driver left us off at the "Red Lion Inn Conference Center" entrance. The "hotel" sign-on-a-stick inside had been moved sideways so we had a confusing few moments trying to find the entrance, all the while lugging 6 heavy piece of luggage.
The first person we met was casually dressed and offered no comment or apology for the confusion in locating the lobby. He accepted our luggage for storage until our room was ready. The concierge was not at her station, so he jumped to her seat and acted as "concierge" .. When we set out on our plans, he went to the front door to hold it for us. Nope, no doorman there either! We arrived in mid-afternoon. All 3 of these posts should have been staffed at that time.
Breakfast? Skip the Frolick Restaurant on the 5th floor and go to the Starbucks in the City Centre building across the street, or the cafe on the corner to the right as you exit. Those of us on line had to share menus .. there were only 4 or 5 available. The room featured 4 large flat screen TV's with different programs running. A separate music soundtrack was playing at the same time. I don't know what they are going for in terms of atmosphere, but I felt very uncomfortable waiting for my b'fast to be delivered to my table. Comparing notes with my husband later that day, he agreed. Skip the Frolick.
The next morning, I set out on my own while my husband was in his conference. The concierge was at her desk and directed me to my destination. The following morning, having made her acquaintance, I expected some sort of smile or recognition, but there was none. I had the feeling I was putting her out. A man who replaced her in the afternoons was far more friendly.
We stayed in an executive suite on the top, 20th floor. We had a spacious living room area overlooking Elliot Bay and Pikes Place Market in the distance. The bedroom featured luxurious sheets and two luxury bathrobes with an alternate view of Seattle downtown. In between was a wet bar with a small fridge below and a single serving Keurig coffee machine. The rooms were clean and the beds were made each day and the towels replaced. One issue was the lack of sufficient power outlets and the lighting. The lamps in each room were not sufficient.
Overall, its an okay hotel for location, but service? Nope, sorry. They need to try harder. « less
