When I first tried the Country Inn and suites back in 2009, I was in search of a place where I would feel comfortable and secure. They have never disappointed me. The feeling you get when you first walk in is one of a warm and friendly atmosphere. In the front room there is a sitting are which consists of a couch, a couple of wing back chairs and a wonderful fireplace. There is also a small library of books there to read in the seating area or to take to your room. This was what felt so fabulous about this hotel. It was warm, friendly and a breath of fresh air. The front desk clerk was very attentive, polite and more than willing to go the extra mile to ensure my stay was a pleasant experience.
I had requested a King Suite. Amazing!!! In the main room there is a tv with an incredible picture and wide selection of channels; a sofa sleeper that was pleasantly firm for seating; a wing back chair and foot rest; sufficient lighting; a desk and chair and also an area with a dorm sized refrigerator and a microwave. Everything was clean, working, and comfortable.
The bathroom was large and clean. Fantastic water flow in the shower and the towels smelled very clean and fresh. The lighting is more than adequate.
The bedroom.....what can I say, I love comfort when I'm sleeping and this is exactly what I got. It was so quiet at night with a wonderful double window that allowed an amazing amount of sunlight in when the drapes were pulled open. There is a dresser and side tables which allow more than enough space to store items and another tv on the dresser. The best thing, the trifecta. Mattress pad, pillows and comforter were down filled. I was spoiled. It was a very pleasant sleep.
All in all, this hotel is warm and friendly. With the fireplace, the smell of fresh cookies, the pleasant wait staff and my room, I will never think twice for a place to stay when in Salina. If you’re looking for a place where you would enjoy the feel of a “home away from home” atmosphere, this is the place. « less

Location - The country inn suites is situated in the south of Salina. I stayed for two nights in late march. Most of the hotels are clustered around the I-135 and this one is close to other options like Marriott etc.
Check-in. I checked in quite late at around 10 pm. The check in attendant was waiting for the last check in which was myself and probably turned in for the night! All the staff were helpful and courteous.
Room - The room had a decent bed, working table, LCD TV and a microwave oven and a refrigerator. Suite is a misnomer and the rooms were of an average size. The bath was of a bigger size and had a nice bath tub and the bath room amenities were decent. The Internet speed was a bit on the slower side.
Facilities - The breakfast was free and the breakfast area seemed a bit smaller for the size of the hotel. The breakfast options were limited but adequate. The parking area was decent and open space is not a constraint in Kansas! The entrance on the northern side seemed broken and people could get in with out a house key. The area is quite safe though and nothing to get worked up.
Overall the hotel had decent facilities and I payed around $70 per night. The list price was above $100 and that seems high for the amenities provided. « less

Location was good. We went in and the building on the inside looked amazing. It was like I was in a get away vacation resort. It smelled nice and had a very comforting feel to it. On the back wall was all these pictures of famous people who had stayed there. The room was clean and good. Beds comfortable. They only thing I didn't like besides remote not being the easiest was the Heat/ AC has 1970's hot or cold option. So we were cold then hot then cold... Why don't hotels update to automatic temperature set? « less
