We were very happy with this hotel, though as some have noted, parking is limited. Breakfast items were extensive and very good. Rooms were large, linens were fresh and substantial; need to add full-size pillows, however. Staff were very helpful. We visit my daughter and her fiancée in Decatur and this hotel is very convenient to their home, shopping and restaurants. « less

I would rate it average and the breakfast was not excellent unless you haven't stayed at other hotel chains were it really is excellent. My ac in the room worked when it felt like it, came on occasionally then would shut off and the room would get hot, so luckily it was cool outside so I opened the window and that helped. « less

At the price paid, I would have expected a well-maintained property. While the bed overall was fairly comfortable, the pillows were a not great. The hotel is outdated and not in good repair. Paint is peeling, door frames are rusty etc. But, since we were just staying a few hours to sleep, it was fine.
There were no restaurant options open late for delivery or within walking distance.
In the hotel's amenities book in our room, there was a number for a cab company. It listed two numbers and then also said, "Or call Dave at XXX-XXX-XXX". This seemed fishy to me so I called the front desk to request an alternate recommendation. I think they gave me the same company--a different number. I called and made arrangements for a van because there were 6 of us traveling together. The man told me that we already called--I told him that must have been someone else. When van arrived, my party got in the van. The driver wanted to know if we could fit the two other people who called for the same time in the van--there were no seats left so we informed him, uh no. So basically those two people as well as two others traveling to the same conference as us were left behind. The cab driver spent most of the ride going in circles and yelling for other drivers to help him out and pick up the other people. When we got close to our destination, the driver got stuck in a parking lot--despite my warnings not to pull in there. There was no attendant on duty and the cost to get out was $25. My party vacated the van and left him there. It cost $47 for a 15 mile cab ride--there was no meter. I should not have used this company, but I didn't feel there were many other options. I realize this has nothing to do with the hotel but it representative of the customer care the Comfort Suites provides and is a helpful tip for future guests needing local transportation.
Also, they would not give me a receipt for our stay. « less

Had gastro- intestinal problem aftereating eggs there. 250 teenagers checked in while we were there and we had to move to a different hotel. Charged us $4.50 for a safe that was not working. I returned to Northlake Comfort Suites for a second visit on my way North after a good experience a year ago, and was not sorry. From the very welcoming reception staff, to the spacious room, to the breakfast, all was excellent. The room was very pleasant, nicely decorated and with a most comfortable bed. Had a large desk with comfy chair and several electrical outlets, great for charging up electronics. It had a huge (big enough for two) tub/jaccuzzi with a great shower. A full breakfast included eggs,sausage,waffles,pastries, hardboiled eggs, cereals, fruit. The hotel is right on the highway, so there is some road noise. But it's a fine place to stay, and I suspect I'll return for a third time next year. « less
