Having stayed at this hotel before we were completely blown away by the difference the renovations have made.We nearly passed the hotel as the outside and sign are very different from a year ago.Light brickwork and a new entrance gives great curbside appeal. Inside all the public spaces look fresh and modern with that sharp crisp look. We stayed in the Suite on the 5th floor and treated ourselves to a jacuzzi as soon as we closed the door. The bathroom and room have are well detailed in natural colours.. The front desk staff greeted us with a smile and helped us by phoning a car rental company.. Check in was fast and baggage carts are positioned at the front door to make transportation easy. Too many hotel hide carts away out of view. The one night stay was great. We give it 5 str value for money. I and C UK « less

Stayed here for a wedding and was pleasantly surprised how nice the facilities were considering it is in the middle of nowhere. I was told it recently had renovations so was glad to hear that. The only issue I had was how my party and I were welcomed appon arrival. The receptionist was very rude, not sure if that was her intention but we all thought her attitude (possibly trying to be sarcastic) was a bit out of line. But other then that the other staff for the wedding were great, beautiful standard rooms, nothing special but personally I don't want to spend much time in the room. I did notice though that even being a non smoking hotel there was a strong presence of smoke on my level. Not that i'm blaming the hotel. Great location. Sauna was not the best, it is a dry sauna so to work up a sweat you would need to be in there for hours, the pool was clean and a reasonable temperature « less

Stayed here one night for some professional development that I was attending early May. No complaints as the room met my criteria-safe, clean and secure. Price was all right but $129 before taxes was maybe a bit high for the area.
Check in was smooth and painless. Staff was pleasant and helpful answering my questions.
Location-Along a main road and close to roads that will take you to the major highway heading east or west out of Guelph-HWY 401. Across the street from major mall and plazas up and down the road which have pretty much all the recognizable chains whether it's fast food, supermarket, pharmacy etc. Good location for me as it was only minutes to the University.
Rooms-Decent sized room with a small washroom. Two double beds with a chair in the corner, desk with chair, large flat screen, place for my bag and hangers. AC/Heating unit was a little on the older side and quite noisy running hot or cold air. It was also located next to the desk/chair so I was more noticeable when I was sitting there. First floor room looking out to the parking lot. It was a little elevated but taller people would have no trouble looking into the room. Sheer curtains but I had to pull the darker ones closed all the way and turn the lights on all the time. Had a smoking room-yes they still exist, and there were two ashtrays in the room. Perhaps to a non smoker it may have smelled like smoke but I did not notice. Parked right outside the room and used a secondary entrance that required my key card. No problems.
Services-Free wifi was reliable and fast enough for me. When logging in there are several options with higher speeds available-at a cost. Make sure you click on the free option as it automatically has you clicked on the first payable option. There is a pool and sauna but I did not have time to use them. Did not have time for the restaurant either but I did see people eating in there-good sign? Free parking-at least if you are staying there. Enough TV channels to keep me entertained and again the free wifi.
Would stay again as it had free wifi, bigger room and no real complaints about anything. Agin the prices was a little high but I know surrounding hotels were full for the training most of the week. « less

This place is sub standard. Room service is closed at 10PM, lounge rarely opened, staff is inexperienced but friendly. Checked out after one night of my 15 night stay. Then they charged me 1K on my credit card even though I paid by debit. I recommend the Delta on Gordon and Stone Rd. They upgraded me and comped some other things and the place does not smell like smoke. « less

We are sorry to hear you decided to leave after only one night with us and were unable to enjoy the hotel's various amenities. Our restaurant and lounge are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, with room service options for each meal as well. For guests arriving after our kitchen closes, the Front Desk has recommendations of nearby restaurants, including those who will deliver to your room.
Thank you for sharing your concern about the activity on your credit card. For a 15 night stay, the hotel would have authorized the credit card provided to us at check in for the house limit of $1000. Upon receiving your debit payment at check out, an electronic message will have been sent to your credit card's issuer to release the funds on hold. The authorization reversal process may take certain institutions anywhere from 3-5 business days to complete. Please feel free to contact the hotel's accounts department directly with any further questions or concerns pertaining to this.
We hope the remainder of your trip to Guelph was pleasant, and that you were able to take some time to explore our beautiful city.
