“Cheap Hotel that still made me feel that I overpaid”

I have stayed, and worked at lots of hotels over the past 20 years, and this one simply gives to me the impression that the owner either Can't, or Won't spend money on maintaining the hotel.
First the good: Inexpensive, fairly quiet, offers park and ride, and accepts pets, friendly Front Desk Service, nice lake on backside of hotel. Mattress was pretty comfortable, but not sure if sheets were changed before I arrived. The Bad: Pool freezing cold and lots of dead bugs floating in it, mold behind peeled back wallpaper by room window, Deadbolt did not lock, would have been OK, but safety latch was also broken, ceiling tiles missing in halls, showing lots of water damages and yet more mold, only 1 elevator working for 120+ rooms made for long waits, shuttles parked under the entryway - making it impossible to park there while we checked in - would suggest they park there when picking up and dropping off, but otherwise should be parked elsewhere. Lastly, I think people must live here long term, because as I walked the halls - could smell what people were making for dinner - such as fried chicken. I MAY stay here again if it were just myself and looking for a cheap room and am allowed to leave my car there for free -but would not subject my wife and children to it again - better to pay a bit more and be able to actually use the pool. « less

Yeah, this place smells, like cigarettes. Although there are signs everywhere clearly clearly stating that there is not smoking in or outside the hotel. I was not impressed with the receptionist. I ran into some very "shady" people in the hallway and also in the parking lot. The hotel was packed undoubtedly because this hotel is not pricey for the area. In the room things were a little better than I expected, tolerable, but I may be uncomfortable taking a shower tomorrow morning! We scoped out the pool and hot tub which was almost crowded at 6 pm. It looked okay, but I'm not sure I would want to take my children in there based off of the rest of the facility. I would recommend paying more for another hotel, I won't be staying here again. « less

We stayed with our 2 young kids for a night We chose the hotel because it had an indoor pool.
Pros: 1. easy to find 2. moderately close to airport 3. cheap 4. good neighborhood (i.e. truck stop and industrial). 5. a lake right outside your window (too windy and cold to visit while we were there)
Cons: 1. rude staff 2. pool facility was in disrepair 3. room cards quit working every 6 hours 4. ran out of hot water in the morning 5. pretty remote to everything in Denver except the Airport 6. Pool was freezing cold 7. Noisy rooms. could hear people walking above us
we stayed here because of budget reasons. You get what you pay for. « less

The first thing you have to remember is don't get stuck using the small van for a transfer, this junker will rattle your brains. This hotel no longer has a cafe as advertised, but does serve a good breakfast for $7. The Dennys and McDonalds advertised as being adjacent to property are actually across a empty lot 1/4 & 1/2 mile. A nice walk when it's not snowing and 20 degrees! The staff from the shuttle driver, desk, and cook are very friendly and helpful and I received an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite just because the desk girl was swamped with phone calls and I had to wait to get checked in. The only downfall is they have 4 or 5 Clarion wifi connections and all are worthless, if you are lucky enough to get connected don't blink because it'll be gone. The other people I talked to all said they were having the same trouble. They do have 2 desktops in the lobby area that run fine, but if your're like me get the 1 on the right since the left 1 has a keyboard that is so old the the letters are wore off. « less

Staying as a Long Term Customer/Guest, paid the $CASH$ up front. As a Customer/Guest you would expect that you would be able to catch the shuttle to the airport...NOT, $20 each way to get to the airport weather your an employee, guest and/or customer...you would think you would get this privilege catching the shuttle because "THEIR ALWAYS GOING TO THE AIRPORT"...NOT...We also wasn't satisfied with the room quality...television was not updated, damages to walls, dressers/drawers, carpets dirty, dirty walls, dirty curtains, broken bed boards, knobs on heater/air conditioner broken and dirty, not as many channels as we thought we would've got on cable...compared to other hotels we've stayed at. Funny to say, I watch HOTEL IMPOSSIBLE, did my homework in the room...pulled drawer out and found someones boxer underwear...EWWW. I went to front desk and told them what I had found...nite lady manager said that she will have "house keeping" clean it up first thing in the morning...after work came back to room, boxer underwear still there. Told them after work that it was still there and finally "house keeping" removed the clothing article, which was not mines. Wife told front desk that heat/air conditioning was not properly working...maintenance came up to fix and "blamed" us for putting/dropping something in the heater for it not to work. Gone through our "second remote" and hospitality here in the hotel is not a happy atmosphere. We had to provide our own supplies (2 towels) one is missing and called front desk and see if we can get a towel temporary, and guest services or front desk said that they cannot provide the towel, until it can be found... this was right after room was being serviced/cleaned. Also hotel is not even close to airport...stay at the Comfort Inn next door if you want better service. « less
