A bit overpriced for what you get but good if you are on business. « less

When booking ask if there are any special functions or tournament guests staying at hotel - unfortunately we have stayed here when there have been several sporting event tournaments in town and gets quite noisy. « less

So, stayed here on a Monday night - yes, this area of Ottawa is dead quiet on a Monday night and you'll need to walk a (pleasant) 15 minute jaunt to get to the Byward Market where the late evening places are open.
That said - lightning fast check-in and exactly as requested on my online booking ; a 20th floor room in room 2022 with excellent view of the river and Supreme Court.
The room was spotless - wireless Internet was more than adequate, the bed was AMAZING, a king bed with 6 pillows and truly a great night of sleep. My bad to leave the curtains open on the floor to ceiling windows which had the 5:30am sun shining in. I snoozed several times.
Yes, the bathrooms are small and only have passive ventilation, but I like the features and service is good. That said, corporate & government rates at this hotel are good value and the service (including at the Spin Restaurant & Bar) is top notch. There may be better deals and locations if you want to be in the heart of the 'action' around the market - check the Courtyard Marriott located dead center in the Byward Market for that.
For a business trip, this is quite perfect. « less

The kids room was well stocked with great toys and activities and he had a wonderful time. The swimming pool was a very nice temperature. Overall great amenities for young kids. The weather was not nice that weekend so this was very appreciated.
The service was quite good and efficient at the check in.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The decor a bit dated.
The wireless Internet was not consistently available on our floor.
Overall a great stay for the family and wood return. « less

Nothing wrong with this one, except the dining room craves attention to its food and service, and pricing is a little over the top. Glad that I used the Green option for room service, and had $10 off coupon for the dining room. The lounge on the 26th floor makes this stay, although not available to all guests. « less
