This is a very good hotel and I would recommend it to anybody. It is very up-to-date, very clean, and has great amenities for all business travelers. The executive floors and lounge are great. Beds are very comfortable, the rooms are very spacious, and the bathrooms are clean and updated. They even have Aveda products as their shampoo and conditioner. Again, I would recommend this to anybody to stay here and they will never be disappointed. « less

My husband and I have stayed here a number of times because it's near his business. Whether we decided to stay one night for fun, or during a flood in our hometown when we were evacuated for days, we have always enjoyed our stay. Because of this hotel we began collecting Marriott Rewards points. Nicely decorated rooms, comfortable beds, always clean. Great restaurant, Olio, with a great staff. Actually, all of the staff are wonderful, and go above and beyond for you. This review was long overdue. « less

The hotel operator had provided incorrect information about getting to this property from LaGuardia airport so I arrived extraordinarily frustrated. The outside of the hotel was nothing spectacular but I was pleased to see that I would be able to walk to an off-site restaurant that shared the parking lot if I wanted to (Asian/sushi). Chantal at the front desk could not have been more empathetic and accommodating. She single-handedly turned my experience around so I would give her 5 stars if the survey would allow it. I was in room 625 on one of two executive floors. The king room was clean, quiet and temperate and the TV had numerous HD channels. I was disappointed to see that there was no refrigerator provided as I had requested but since it was for only one night, it wasn't that big of a deal to me. The concierge lounge was open although the nibbles had been replaced with dessert by the time I went to check it out (7:45pm). It would have been nice to have something a little more substantial available - granola bars, whole fruit, etc. As such, I returned to the room and ordered dinner from room service. Delivery took longer than I expected but the meal was fairly good - especially the homemade chips - and reasonably priced. I really couldn't figure out the hotel's decor but I wasn't overly impressed with it. I generally expect and appreciate a more traditional atmosphere when I am staying for business at a chain hotel.
The next morning, I utilized their shuttle service to go to the office nearby that I was visiting for the day. The driver was prompt, courteous and I really appreciated this service! Apparently, they go to several nearby office complexes on a regular schedule. Paula, the front desk supervisor, assisted me with arrangements to return to the airport which was a tremendous help given the issues I encountered coming in. However, when I called the hotel mid-afternoon to re-confirm the transportation, the hotel told me that the car would pick me up at 4, not 4:30 as I thought Paula had arranged. As such, I had to leave my meeting earlier than expected. I waited for 30 minutes for the 4pm car to arrive. I did call the driver several times and the he assured me that he'd be there by 4:30, the time that the hotel had reserved. Once he arrived, everything went smoothly and I made it to the airport with time to spare. But, another frustrating communication mistake for the hotel operator(s).
All in all, the hotel itself was fine and my overall experience was made better by Chantal, Paula, the shuttle driver and some homemade potato chips :-) The room was comfortable and I felt safe. However, the communication with the hotel caused some issues for me that were not insurmountable but that were simply unnecessary. « less

This hotel looks the business. The lobby is bright and airy with fun paintings, and plush furnishings. The rooms are lovely. Really. They have obviously been renovated recently and kept well. But...it was not a welcoming place. The chap who checked us in could barely be bothered. We had a slightly unusual booking having booked two rooms on Avios points and one direct with Marriott, and he seemed to struggle to find it. Mostly because he wasn't really listening, as he was also barking orders to another member of staff that a party of guests who had told them six o'clock could not book in early (it was about three thirty). He seemed to be focused on efficiency, but failed to recognise my husbands Marriott Rewards Elite status. Not a big deal, but noticed. Still, we got the rooms we wanted in the end and as I say they were very nice. Unfortunately we had a bad experience here, which the hotel had no control over, but does have a bearing on any recommendation to stay here, as someone tried to break into our rental car overnight while it was parked in the hotel car park. It was on the end of a row and we suspect it was opportunistic. The hotel were helpful and called the police for us, but it soured the stay. We have been vacationing in the USA every year since 1998, have been to many different areas, and this is the one and only time that we have had a problem. After the car was damaged I noticed that there were signs at the entrance to the hotel car park warning that they were not responsible for any theft or damage to vehicles. We got up very early for the daytime flight for Newark, and the hotel had billed us for a meal that we had not had in the restaurant, so we had to sort it out before we left. By contrast with the first member of staff, the night manager could not have been nicer, and sorted it out with no problem, wishing us a good trip home. Perhaps he should be on the day shift. « less
