I liked the hotel, but I was annoyed by 1) a poorly draining shower and 2) no syrup for waffles.

I liked the hotel, but I was annoyed by 1) a poorly draining shower and 2) no syrup for waffles.
The hotel is nice. It's in a pretty nice area. It was very easy to get to from LAX, and very quick when there's no traffic (about 20 minutes). It's off a major road, there are several big malls in the area as well as Target, Walmart, supermarkets. It's very close to the Redondo Beach Pier, literally right down the street. There are a few chain restaurants across the street (Chicken Dijon, Quizno, Wahoo Fish Tacos, Subway).
The hotel itself is nice. The rooms look new and beautiful. Everything was comfortable and pretty. The bed was great. The room is quiet. The fridge was nice, there was a microwave. The breakfast was very good. The staff was very good in stocking the goodies during rush hour (except for the aforementioned syrup, how hard is it to get syrup?). There's a good variety, but the eggs are sort of fake-scrambled.
The wifi worked well from my room way at the end of the hall. I didn't really deal much with the staff, but they were very nice at check-in and check-out. I think the value of the hotel is great. It's good deal for a nice, big room in a good area. « less

The room was clean, modern and felt new but it was also dark. It had a fridge and microwave but absolutely no utensils - not even a spoon. There were no plates, bowls or cups either.
The beds were great - good mattresses and a selection of comfortable pillows. The room did not have a safe but, you could place valuables in a safety deposit box at reception (you got one key, they had the other and you needed both keys to open it)
Internet was fast, reliable and supported Multiple devices
Breakfast was a typical American buffet style with fruit, cereals, pastries, juices and a limited hot food choice. The selection, availability and quality were pretty good
"Downtown LA is a 30 minute drive. Redondo beach is literally 5 minutes away. In April, the beaches are cold and the water is cold (54F). If we were booking again, we'd stay closer to town or at the airport hotels, which were much cheaper.
The area around the hotel is OK. There's a Subway right next door and no shortage of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. There's also plenty of shops of all kinds close by. (Including a T-Mobile for Europeans needing an American SIM for data services)"
Car Parking was free and plentiful
Overall, we had a good stay and the hotel was OK but, we couldn't quite see why it got such great reviews from previous guests. « less

Room was clean and a good size. When checking in, we requested to pay for our room in cash as we had exchanged the money to do so. The young lady on the counter would not accept cash due to hotel policy, even though I offered the 'bond' to go on my credit card. I found this to be extremely frustrating after a 17 hour flight, especially since when I booked out she offered to cancel the credit card payment and offered for me to pay cash. Would probably go back as all other staff were fantastic and nice quiet, continent place! « less

Room was super clean. Staff awesome. Good selection of breakfast. Hotel was busy but very quite. This is our second stay for business and we will be going back. Our entire group was impressed with rooms and cleanliness. The only drawback is the lobby which is small. Free coffee and water a nice touch, no 5 dollar Starbucks. Free Internet not the greatest. Overall great place good value « less

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip. The room is nice and big, the bathroom is spacious and clean. Complementary breakfast. But the Internet connection sucks in my room, because it is located at the end of the hall. Tips: ask if your room is located at the end of the hall; if so, ask for a room that is located closer to the elevator.. The wireless Internet connection is better. Also, if you get a room on the 2nd floor, be prepared to smell bacon grease every morning, because breakfast is served on that floor. « less
