We stayed here while attending the Dish Network Team Summit. The room was nice, staff very friendly. They did mess up our room with my husbands coworker, but that turned out ok. The Riverwalk is right across the street. Nice neighborhood for Mexican food. My only complaint is the pool area. My husband was at training, so I was at the pool. The wooden deck was very hot in the 97 degree weather, the pool was cloudy and the chairs were wooden; they were not adjustable.
My husband and I would stay there again. Price is nice and you can enjoy the Riverwalk as well. « less

, I recently stayed a night at here on the evening of March 31st. I had a great stay, and the hotel was beautiful, and well kept. It was a shame, however, that one employee had to sour the whole experience. My girlfriend and I were in town to watch the Heat vs Spurs game, and were out late celebrating a friend's birthday. We arrived back at the hotel around 2 AM. My girlfriend really needed to use the restroom, so she used the one in the lobby as we waited for our friends, who were also staying in the hotel, to get back. I decided to walk around as I waited. A nice employee of the bar was just finishing closing up, and I asked him if I could look around. He told me it was no problem because everything was already locked up. He was in a red shirt and had kind of long hair, very polite. However, as I was leaving that area heading back towards the lobby, I was stopped by the night time janitor. He was hispanic and had a shaved head. He demanded to know what I was doing. I told him that the guy who ran the bar had told me I could look around. He very rudely informed me that he runs the place, and I was not allowed to be there. He then asked me 3 TIMES if I had a room at the hotel, and accused me of trespassing. I have never been treated that rudely by any employee anywhere. There was not an ounce of politeness, or even basic courtesy to this man. I did not pay my hard earned money to stay at a wonderful hotel, and then be accused of some kind of criminal activity for merely taking in the artwork in the bar area. After my stay, I wrote an email to the hotel detailing this exact experience. I have waited for over a month, and still no response. Not even a simple apology, or even an acknowledgement of my email. « less

From my understanding there are 3 of these suites in the hotel. It's the only room I've stayed in and while there were some mediocre things about it, let me explain the 4 stars...they're almost all in the bathroom...
The room has a seating area (pull out sofa, hanging wall flatscreen (on the smaller side), small bar area (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sink), sliding door to balcony (small but you can walk out on it), 2 sitting chairs, desk with office chair, double doors into the bedroom that are glass so you can see into the bedroom from the living room. The balcony door was broken in the room I stayed in so I didn't go on the balcony but I also didn't care much because the view was mediocre.
Now the COOL stuff...The bedroom has 2 accordion wooden windows that lead into the bathroom. When you open them, on the other side is a 2 seater full Jacuzzi. Yes, it's a tub, but it's really a hot tub in your room. My husband and I went downtown to stay and relax but go to eat and hang out on the riverwalk and ended up sitting in the Jacuzzi talking away most of the night because it was so relaxing. The bathroom is completely re finished and the shower has a rain shower head (hangs from ceiling) as well as a detachable on the wall shower head (I believe it actually had 2). It's a walk in shower and was more than large enough for both of us when we were getting ready.
We walked to the Riverwalk and back which has a shopping mall, plenty of restaurants, and a plethora of bars for the night out. « less

When looking for a hotel on the Riverwalk while on the internet, we came across this hotel. We immediately went on to Trip Advisor to see reviews. Although the rating was varied, we decided to take a chance with the hotel based on price and location. We were pleasantly surprised and loved the quirkiness of the hotel. Although it isn't in the busy part of the riverwalk, it is within a short walking distance from all the action which was fine by us. We're older, and well, quite boring. This quiet hotel is right by the Law Courts and only 1/2 block from La Villita. When booking, we decided to get the "riverwalk" view out your window which basically meant that you just cranked down your neck from your window and saw the water below. Really, nothing to brag about, but nice enough to see the Tower of the Americas outside our window. Our hotel room was nice and although beds were small (for some reason, only booked double beds, rather than queen!), they were comfortable. The décor of the hotel was colorful and eclectic - very funky and so interesting to see all the different art. They took a risk doing something out of the ordinary from a chain hotel (boring décor), and really made it uniquely special and pleasing to the eye. Staff was friendly and helpful, except when needing to check out at 6:30 in the morning - the desk clerk was too busy being on his cell phone and ignored me for quite a while until I bluntly had to say that I had to leave to catch a plane. He then tried to talk to the person on the phone and ask me questions to do the paperwork - which he kept getting mixed up. One of the maintenance crew came up and started to talk with me - I think he felt bad for the service that he was witnessing. Finally, this person got off the phone and was able to concentrate on just looking after me after he clearly knew I was losing patience. I actually think this was a cultural thing (being dismissive to women), rather than what the hotel's expectation was. That was the only negative thing staff-wise that I encountered as the rest of the staff members were helpful and friendly. They advertise Wi-Fi in the hotel rooms. This proved to be incorrect as I could not get a signal despite asking a few times about it. After inquiring, they told me that they were working on upgrading the system and right now it isn't working properly. Then.... don't advertise that there is Wi-Fi in the rooms!! Having access to Wi-Fi was another factor of choice when booking this hotel - a place where we could use the internet in our room. We were able to use our tablet around the pool area and downstairs in the lobby though. We absolutely loved the pool area which is in the middle of the hotel (courtyard). It was wonderful to go down and have our "happy hour" by the pool. One thing we would have liked to see was to have towels available by the pool (they said there was some, but there wasn't). The 1st night we stayed in the hotel, we parked our car across the street for $10.00 for 24 hours which was a great price. The next day, we came out of the hotel to see the parking lot so full that there were vehicles blocking ours. The lot guy did come soon to move vehicles around so that we could get ours out. We decided the next night though to park in the hotel because of the fact that we needed to make sure we left for the airport at a specific time the next morning. It was quite interesting to see how the parkade worked.......you depend on a light to tell you that it is your turn to go up (or down) and also depend on others to follow this system because there is only one lane that takes you up and down. A little scary, but obviously has worked well for years and years. I used the excersize gym that is on the lower level of the hotel. They really have to throw out all the machines that are in there because they are so well worn, that each one wasn't working properly. The tv didn't work on one, but on another - the tv worked, but the machine didn't. The bike worked, but the tv was so distorted that you couldn't see and the bike wasn't working correctly. So yes, some tiny problems with the hotel, but we certainly will be booking with them next time we come as we loved it! « less
