From the moment you enter this luxurious hotel you feel you are a valued guest. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. Things run smoothly. The hotel is very well appointed with a welcoming lobby and bar when you feel the need to relax after sightseeing. We only had breakfast at the restaurant, but it was great. Will certainly return! « less
“Very good overall, one complaint... the concierge lady”

We stayed at the St. Regis Washington, D.C. from 3/29/13 to 4/1/13. We have a 2.5 years old child at the time of the travel. Overall, we really liked this hotel. Great location which is 2 blocks away from the White House surrounded by many dining options. The building is really beautiful inside and outside. Employees at the hotel were very pleasant except for one person...
There was only one complaint we had at this hotel. For us, always concierge matters. They make the difference. Here was one concierge lady on 3/29 afternoon at the concierge desk. Unfortunately I do not remember her name, but she was probably at her 50s or 60s. She had gray short hair. When we asked her about the parking options, she did not tell us exactly where the self-parkings were. She told us lazily 'just over there, on I street', then she walked away to have a chat with other employees at the reception desk. We had never seen any concierge like her in the past especially at the 5 star hotels. Me and my husband were both really shocked how rude she was. It was so shocking that we still talk about her how nasty she was. We really believe a person like her should not be a concierge.
On the other hand, Leslie and Alex at the same concierge desk were both extraordinary professional, and made us smile every time we talked to them. LESLIE AND ALEX ARE AMAZING! My son even loved Leslie so much as she gave him a few Easter Eggs!
As for the room, we were able to stay at the Accessible Room as we needed to have a crib in the room. It was a beautiful spacious room. We had no view, however it worked fine as we were outside most of the time. Bathroom was just stunning. Gorgeous marble and so SPACIOUS!
Due to the one concierge lady, we have to give this property only 4 stars. It is a shame. « less

i've waited weeks to write this review because i wanted to be fair. the historic structure is gorgeous and the location near the white house is pretty darned enviable. however, our stay was just not good. we were hustled through registration (someone more interesting came in as we were waiting in line to check in) and we were asked to step aside, get out of the way, more than once during our several days at the st. regis. don't get me wrong, the room was beautiful and immaculate. the lobby and the bar/restaurant were well done. one evening we went to the lobby for an after dinner chat and, though the folks across from us were served two rounds of drinks in quick order, i ended up walking into the bar and asking if i could order at the bar and take it to the lobby. great huffing and exclamations followed and a waiter was dispatched to follow me through the door to the lobby. our order was for a cup of tea, a cup of decaf, and a sweet to share. perhaps it was the modesty of our request that was at fault. the tea was never mentioned again. the waiter explained that it would take a while for him to go and brew a large pot of decaf, which no one else would want or drink, and that he was quite busy with the other table. would we like something else? by this time we felt that we had imposed upon him enough to have to stick around and explain to us why our request was so burdensome, so we said we could do without. he turned and left. there was no tea or coffee making facility in our room. the st. regis is way too glorious for anything like that. we had bottled water in the room, but somehow it wasn't the lovely evening in the lobby that we had imagined. i have not included my photo of the view from our 'upgraded' room. it would be unkind. and you wouldn't believe it anyway. we just kept the drapes closed. take this review with a grain of salt. if you've read this far, you know i had a singular bad experience. it is a beautiful building. i just won't be going back there. ever. « less

I stayed two times in a week with an interval of a day. Got a on the top floor with street view and later a room on the 5th floor. I love the top floor room which I felt was more spacious but my wife found the opposite as she felt the 5th floor was better distributed. In both cases, a very nice room with a fantastic bed, a nice bathroom, good amenities, all the newspapers that you may want and a very attentive service. If you love to see people, well we saw Secretary of State Kerry getting into the hotel. The hotel is very nice in a perfect location, is just missing a Je ne sai quoi !! I have been in more impresive St. Regis. « less

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The room was spotless, decorated beautifully and had plenty of space for 2 of us. It was a nice layout with plenty of closet space and I liked the front entry with a large full length mirror. We stayed in a room with two double beds looking out front of the property. The bathroom wasn't huge, but it was perfect for the two of us. Very clean and well appointed, excellent shower! The common areas are gorgeous. Large business center where you can use the computers, print, and scan. Also they had free bottles of water in the business center which was a nice touch. The staff was amazing. I had several packages delivered to the hotel and upon arrival they were brought to me immediately. I have stayed at other hotels where trying to find my packages was not easy! The St Regis was so organized. The concierge Lida Small was incredible! She was so helpful and her recommendations were spot on. The front desk staff and bellmen were great as well. Lobby is gorgeous, but also comfortable. Bar area was really cool. Location is perfect, you walk outside and you are steps from the White House. I cannot say enough great things about this property, I will definitely be back! « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"Our trip to Pittsburgh, including the stay at the Days Inn, was excellent. I'm very glad I found your web site and will both be using it in the future, and recommending to colleagues. The responsiveness of the site, and its ability to find us lodging even in the midst of the US Open, was wonderful. Independently, the best another teacher could do initially was secure a hotel about an hour away from downtown. She was also very pleased with our final accommodations." S.K. - Western New York
"I thank you for your assistance and plan on letting others know about your service so that they can utilize it for their upcoming functions. You're gonna end up putting Event Planners such as myself out of business! (LOL)" K.P. - Annapolis, MD
