Surprisingly comfortable bed! Fridge in room. Nice & helpful service. The room had a slightly dank smell when we first got there, not too bad but noticeable. It improved as we ran the fan & AC. Toilet clogged on our last morning but they sent a guy to fix it right away. Great convenient location for us. Seemed a little expensive compared to Hojo Pasadena, where we stayed a couple weeks later. « less

This is a nice hotel, close to several restaurants and easy access to the highway system. If you have a student at Occidental College, it is a great place to stay. There's a nice complementary breakfast, wi-fi, outdoor pool, and friendly staff. There's also a minifridge and microwave. If you're looking for the basics and not being pampered, it's the perfect place. However, I think the beds are super comfortable and better than most "economy" hotels. Although it's on a busy street, we didn't hear any street noise and even making a left turn in or out of the parking lot is relatively easy. Only one complaint - the soda machine stopped working while we were there for a day. However, there was a food cart right in front and they had soda. « less

There is quite a large mall 2 minutes driving from the motel location.

Breakfast room was a little crowded, but good food. Location is perfect to visit Occidental, and easy to get to Pasadena or Burbank Airport. « less

If you're looking for luxury accommodations, the Comfort Inn in Eagle Rock isn't it. Rooms are modestly furnished with a table and two chairs, mini fridge and microwave, and flat panel display. The sink is in the room, while the toilet and shower/bath are in an undersized (and poorly designed) bathroom. Beds are ok, but with only two pillow types: full and too full, leading to neck aches among the group.
It was also disappointing that while there were two vending machines practically outside our door, one (for water) was actually turned off and the other was out of everything. Not a welcome surprise after a long day of travel. Fortunately, the front desk came through...
Things that stood out as above and beyond were the front desk staff, who were friendly and helpful, and provided bottles of water to our group; free WiFi, extremely useful for scouting the area; hot breakfast that went well beyond basic continental to include eggs and sausage, waffles, cereal and oatmeal, breads, yogurt, coffee, and juices. If it weren't for the fact that the "comfort room" in which to eat said breakfast is smaller than a guest room, it would have been downright delightful. And it's a bit frustrating to have a sign that says "No take out" when there's nowhere to sit...shall I stand?
Given the price and location, it's an excellent choice for families traveling on a budget. Just set your expectations accordingly. And bring your own pillows and a place to sit. « less
