The Hilton Hawaiian village has beautiful grounds and the staff was very nice and helpful. It is a very popular hotel so there are alot of guests. I thought that the hotel was a bit pricey, had a very expensive buffet breakfast $30.00 dollars per person,,,it wasnt anything extraordinary about the breakfast, so come with a big appetite and fill your plate. Would probably stay again if I could find a cheaper room and watch where I choose to eat. « less

There was a traffic jam just getting into the driveway of the Hilton! We went there to treat ourselves to the last 2 days we had in Honolulu. There are so many people there and I think the staff are a little too busy trying to serve everyone. The check in queue snaked out the foyer!
The pool slides were great for our son - but if your kids can't swim, they'll have to wear some sort of flotation device.
A few restaurants in there - selection to choose from is good. The breakfast buffet at Rainbow Lanai was superb, but at $30/head you'd want it to be!!!
The hotel also charges a fee of US25/day to use wifi, etc. A bit steep if you ask me, when you're already forking out $400/night. And they didn't have coasters for your drinks which drove me nuts because the water on the table kept dripping. Again, for $400/night, you'd think they could give you a coaster for your drink. We also asked room service for wine glasses and were told they don't have any but can deliver normal water glasses.
They put on a fireworks show every Friday and close off the 2 biggest pools from 5pm.
It was ok. But for value and a real treat, next time we'll stay at the Sheraton or Outrigger. « less

This was our first visit to the Hilton Hawaiian village. Our rooms were partial ocean view in the Tapa tower, the view from our rooms was amazing , we looked straight down Waikiki beach with diamond head in the background. We chose to have lunch in the Bar and grill on the beach straight after we had arrived and checked in. The service was terrible, we were given a buzzer so they could buzz us when a table was ready even though the restaurant was half empty, we were at a loss as to why they couldn't seat us straight away. We were seated about 10 mins later. We ordered our drinks and food, it took 45 mins to be served our drinks and almost one hour to receive our food order, other guests were being seated and served their meals and drinks after us which was very annoying. The server was hopeless. He had no idea what he was doing and other servers were watching him flounder. We went back a few nights later for a drink at about 9pm,once again the bar was empty except for about 3 other people ,we waited for about 10 mins watching two staff members wasting time on the other side of the bar and not bothering to serve ,we finally received our drinks 15 mins later in dirty glasses, the waiters were not friendly or welcoming at all. It was such a shame as the bar is right on the beach in a beautiful setting but absolutely ruined by bad bad service. Getting a drink at the pools here was pretty much impossible with unmotivated lazy staff once again hiding and chatting amongst themselves and ignoring the guests. Empty glasses and rubbish were around the pool with staff walking by continually and not cleaning up. We did have great service in the Pizza restaurant ,CJ sandwich restaurant and Fresco Italian. We were so surprised at the service level and attitude of the staff overall at this hotel, we were expecting so much more. The property itself is fantastic with a great location but let down by the bad service here, it could be so good if they bothered to care. « less

We decided to stay for just one night to have fun in the midst of it all in Waikiki. We had booked a room in the Tapa tower for our family of four, we were upgraded to a suite for no charge! 17th floor, looking out towards the ocean. It was amazing! It's a large complex that allows you to swim at a pool, go to the beach, grab a drink at several bars or meals at several restaurants without ever having to to get back into your car. Plus, you can easily walk or grab a shuttle to the waikiki shopping areas. Some tips about the place:
When you pull into the complex you travel down a long drive until you can go left for check-in and valet parking, or right to self park for a whole let less right in the complex. If you valet park, don't get overwhelmed by all the cars in the circular drive. You will need to park with 20 other cars, get your luggage out and flag someone down.
Finding parking is crazy in Waikiki, we suggest you leave your car at the resort and hop onto the many shuttles that go all over the local area.
Check in is a bit long as they give you resort keys that can act as resort charge account cards too
The large pools open at 8am, the Ali'i tower has a private pool that opens at 6am Kalia tower also has a tiny pool that opens at 6am, kind of old and doesn't have any morning sun.
Pool towels are handed out via a pool plastic card key. We recommend you get those early, some pool towel stations open after the pools do.
The Paradise pool with slides is a smaller area, and a little overcrowded, and rather far away from the main areas. You need a card key to get into it too.
Lots and lots of group tours and conventions going on, it's not uncommon for 100 people to be walking in a group taking up a lot of walkway space, that can be a little wierd.
There are 2 ABC stores right on site to get any basic needs, from ice cream and alcohol to toothpaste and swim shorts. All kinds of other shops to visit from high end clothing to cookies.
Our suite only had a coffee maker, small fridge and a sink, no microwave. Food brought to the room is available but really expensive. There are 2 starbucks stores that open early and have great seating, one in the Kalia tower and one over by the Ali'i.
There are fireworks avery Friday night, great views from our room, so if that interests you ask about getting a room higher up facing the lagoon area.
The concierge desk was very helpful with suggestions for dinner, shopping and tours.
We had a great stay, a great start to our vacation « less

It´s a crowd! I was there ( Rainbow Tower ) to work in a convention and I really didn´t like it at all. Many buildings, many people, a real shopping center, I called room service twice but had to give up after ten minutes, that means there is no room service, so I went down and bought a sandwich at ABC Store. There were small ANTS all over my room, a nightmare, the reception always with big lines, lucky me I had Hilton Honors, so the line were smaller. If you can try another option in Waikiki. « less
