This is an old Embassy Suites, I think. The rooms are nice and quiet and the staff is very responsive. I've stayed there many times on business and I always run into the same problem with a missing ground plug on the extension cord for my meeting room. Whenever I ask, it's promptly replaced, but I wonder why I have to ask each time.
I stopped at the front desk to buy a couple of Diet Cokes before my meeting and the shop was out of them. Steven at the front desk ran down to the bar to get them for me and insisted on not charging me because I had been inconvenienced. I thought that was a nice touch.
The breakfast is excellent with lots of fresh fruit and a cheerful staff. « less

I agree with other reviews that the hotel needs some up-dating...although now the bedding and beds seem newer and were comfortable. The reservation staff was very helpful in blocking a suite for me in the area I had requested. The living room area needs more lights in it and the carpeting looks old/used. The cocktail hr. was just great--variety of snacks, pleasant bartender. The cooked-to-order breakfast was excellent also, with the (female) cook very efficient and pleasant. The breakfast would have been improved with some fruit offerings, as they've done in the past, and wheat bread as well as white. I stay at this place a couple of times a year and find it a comfortable place to stay. « less

Arrived for a one-night business stay with a co-worker. Pleasant check-in. Nice atrium. Room was extremely cold and I adjusted the thermostat before joining my co-worker for a lunch at the hotel to prepare for our meeting. Food was quite good. Returned to the room, which was still extremely cold. Adjusted more. On our way out I stopped at the front desk and they said they would get it taken care of. When I returned to the room after the meeting and dinner, the temperature in the room was much warmer. When I went to the business area to print out my boarding pass, neither of the two wireless keyboards was working. The desk folks attended to my problem immediately, and allowed me to use the concierge's computer and printer.
So while there were a couple of problems, the speed and consideration with which they were handled makes this a hotel that I will include on any future trips to the area. Kudos to the staff! « less

When my son turned 8 he had a family birthday party at the then Embassy Suites in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Since that time, the hotel was sold and is now known as the Brookfield Suites. Well, my son is 25 and the hotel still looks the same...I'm telling you nothing has changed. Yup, no updates in 17 years.
We had to stay in a hotel in our hometown due to flooring installation in our home. Luckily we only had to stay one night.
The pros...good breakfast, quiet, good location, acceptably comfortable bed, pool, $105 rate. The cons...out-of-date, worn-out bedding, barely adequate towels, dark, old furniture, and generally dull. I'm a bath person and this bath was sub-par. The tile was recaulked over and over again...I even pushed on it to see if it was loose. There was a rubber mat on the floor of the tub that I was afraid to try to lift. This hotel needs a face-lift. Maybe it was the old sundae I found in my room's freezer that gave me the bad impression.
If you're on a budget, this hotel is do-able. If you want something nice, go somewhere else. « less

We came to Milwaukee for Brewers games, unfamiliar with hotels near Miller Park. I have to say that choosing this hotel resulted in a very pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the beds comfortable as well. All amenities were exactly as described. The staff was very kind, attentive, responsive to any request. It is about 7 miles from the ballpark but it is so easy to get around that it is no problem at all. The pool was nice and the atmosphere relaxing. There was a conference going on while we were there and the accommodations for non-conference guests was such that we didn't really notice. From check-in to departure, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely consider this hotel again when we come to Milwaukee. « less
