Stayed here due to the location close to the underground stop, the rooms looked decent and general value for Money.
We had a massive room on the top floor. Yes the main corridors and lift are a bit dated, but the rooms are fine. Clean, smart, massive tv, fridge, lots of storage. Cleaned everyday with new towels, bedding.
Staff were so helpful. Made us feel very welcome and helped us out on many occasions.
Breakfast was ok.. If you can get a table. The room is very small and packed, so you're lucky if you can get a seat. Some big groups seemed to Hogg the tables and just be sipping a cup of tea. Bit frustrating. Served from 6-9am. We went down various times during our stay and Never got a seat, so we just ate breakfast elsewhere. You can grab a bagel or donut and leave, but it's hard to walk out with a bowl of cereal!
We paid about £350 for the 2 of us for 6 nights bed&breakfast which was good value for us, would def stay again. Also next to a petrol station so handy to buy drinks/snacks after house, and opposite a big Denny's diner. Handy!
metro area was fine, not dangerous at all. 5 min on train to hollywood boulevard. Can't beat that :) « less

We arrived in Los Angeles early in the morning and the hotel was able to check us in well before the posted check-in time. Our room was good size...2 queen size beds, plenty of storage and a flat screen tv. The hotel is next door to one of the stations for the Red Line of the Metro/Subway system which makes getting around easy and convenient. The breakfast area is well maintained and food containers are kept filled...the ladies who have this job are always there, checking to be sure there is plenty of everything available. The neighborhood appears to be older but we never had any problem with it, and heard no street noise while in our room. I would definetly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Los Angeles. « less

It is a very good hotel!! Beds are extremely comfy!!!!! Breakfast includes different beverages as coffee, juice, milk, etc. You also have fruit, yogurt, waffles, pancakes, cheese, etc. It was very good!!!!! Also, the room was clean and provided with lots of clean towels every day. One day we had an incident at four in the morning when the guests in the upper room were screaming and jumping on the floor (the noise was unbearable) I called the manager at that time and he called them to be quiet. He was very helpful. Peter, the manager during the day, is a very helpful and nice guy. He does his job very well. The neighborhood is not very nice during the night hours, it is fine during the daytime. « less

I booked this hotel because I wanted someplace to stay while visiting LA's tourist attractions. PRO's: friendly front office staff/ clean room/ refrigerator, microwave and blow dryer were clean and worked perfectly/ breakfast was good and included bagels, sausage, egg patties, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, danishes and doughnuts (although the doughnuts will literally disappear the second the staff replaces them)/ 2 choices of cold cereal (when I was there, it was raisin bran and frosted flakes) and you can make your own waffles which were excellent. Cold milk and orange juice and hot coffee and tea.// staff was accommodating to any and all of my requests and they responded promptly and courteously. / easy access (within a block) of highways and metro bus stops./ shower head was great with options for massage and water pressure was great. Nice flat screen TV. Plenty of electrical outlets. Breakfast area was picked up/maintained very well. CONS: surrounding area and neighborhood seems a bit unsafe. Parking garage is very small and tight and is difficult to maneuver your car in to the tight spots. Several people had damaged their cars by scraping the side of their doors on the many support beams-be careful! Outside is very noisy-bring a sound machine and/or earplugs if you can. Elevator is very outdated with ugly and damaged wood paneling...it also has a large "drop" once it reaches your floor, so be prepared. Our bathroom had large cracks in the fiberglass surrounding the water spout, which I imagine was flooding the inner walls. You must also make sure that every part of the curtain is tucked inside of the shower, or your floor will be flooded. Closet was large, but could have used a light in it. Dressers looked nice, but opening and closing the drawers was quite difficult, if not impossible at times. Beds were a bit uncomfortable, but ok. Very noisy if you are in a room with people staying above you, request a top floor, if available. Limited seating for breakfast, but even though there is a sign there stating that CA law prohibits you from taking food out of the dining area, they never had a problem with people taking items back to their room...which was a PRO in my eyes. They only have one waffle maker, which made for long waits to make your waffle. They need a second or even third one to eliminate congestion. Perhaps they could remodel and use some room from the lobby that was never being used. No pool, but I wouldn't feel comfortable sunbathing in that part of town anyway. No shopping/stores nearby, they are all several blocks away, you really need a car to stay here for any extended period of time. « less

The common areas are a little worn around the edges, but the rooms are attractive and clean, the beds great, and nice big flat panel TVs. Breakfast is very good, with hot eggs, sausage and waffles. The location is very convenient, just off the 101. We had business around the Music Center, and it was an easy straight 8-minute drive to downtown LA on a city street during rush hour. Staff volunteered to waive the parking fee for a gold Choice member. « less
