We recently had a family members recption at this facility, We were treated very rudely, staff was not helpful Our room for the rectption wasn't ready for us to set up.It took forever to get the manager to come to assst us. Wrong tables were set up in room No sound for the Video charged for beer that was already paid for. Not happy with this service at all. Have worked for Hotel Services for approx. 25 years and have not had this kind of service in all my years of experience. Need new staff or Management to run this place. You would think with this hotel they would have more bell carts and ample parking. had to park 5 blocks away. « less

We stayed here on a Saturday night for a convention. I had two rooms reserved and one was available at 4:00 and other not quite ready. After being told it would be 15 mintues or so for housekeeping to finish, we waited and waited. At about 5:00, the agent at the front desk said (only after we had to ask) there was a room available but they didn't think we would want it.
We readily told them we wanted it (duh!) and asked about a comp for the rather sloppy service. We heard plenty of excuses (hotel was really full and everyone checked out, housekeeping is busy, etc) but no one had the prescence of mind to apologize and say their service didn't meet their standards. I travel all over the world and never ran into a front desk staff so committed to not helping.
Rooms are old, small and outdated. Certainly not in the same league as most modern hotels. I would stay away from here. « less

We got a room for $68 per night, which was great for our week long stay for Mayo Clinic treatment. Parking was $14 per night, so if you have a rental car return it the day you arrive because there is a shuttle that leaves every 15 minutes and will take you to WalMart, Target and many other places for FREE and then picks you up. There are some specials that include FREE parking, BUT do the math, it was cheaper for us to pay $69 per night + $14 per day for parking than it was to get the Mayo Clinic special. The pool area is wonderful and the fitness center is INCREDIBLE! This hotel is connected by an underground walkway (reminds me of walking around a big mall) to Mayo, the hospital, a library, a small mall with a Barnes & Noble store. Lots to do and lots of walking, but it was all inside. « less

I was going to stay here for a month and I wanted to see my room before I booked it, so I asked the big blonde girl at the front desk (who I heard was the front desk manager and looks like she hates her job and her life) ) if I could see the $65 room I was quoted on the phone. She said ok (with the look as if you are wasting 10 minutes of her precious time) and the bellboy showed me a tiny student room which was the size of my bathroom at home. I went back to the frontdesk to ask for a bigger room and the Big Blonde rolled her eyes and ran to the back as soon as she saw me coming. I waited 20 mins for her to come back, and she said that's the only room available and since I am a student she can offer it for $55. I had no choice so I go ahead and book the room. A couple of weeks later I read through the "student room welcome packet" i got the day i checked in and find out my tiny room has a fixed rate of "$35 a day, for a 30 day or more stay". I go back to ask why I wasn't given that rate and the friendly guy in the front desk says it cannot be changed since I already signed it. And he was also confused why I got the room for $55, he even said "these rooms are normally $35". And he also checked who gave me the rate and said "oh.. I can't do anything because its my manager who you talked to and who has booked the room for you" So I only overpaid $600 to stay in a room the size of my bathroom and get rude service! Perfect! « less

I checked into an economy $65 room on Sunday, May 6 and after two room changes, I checked myself out. I expected a small room and dated, but the cleanliness of the room was terrible! Hair shavings in the medicine cabinet, dried "something" on the kleenex protector, nightstand, and desk, one inch of dust on the bed and the night stand, and dirty shower just gross. Second room, wasn't much better and the refrigerator stood on three legs, and freezer door broke off. I asked for a coffee pot, then had to ask for coffee and cups. I was told the bellman would bring up my new room key and walked by me and my 9 bags, twice. I asked for a cart, and that never came either. Was prepared to tip. Broken elevator, terrible customer service when explaining my situation. Finally I pushed my 9 bags out to my car on a random wheelchair I found in the hallway. Many more examples of bad CS, but not enough room. I am both a patient of Mayo Clinic and a contractor who works for Mayo Clinic, I expected more. « less
