"Clean Hotel, but Problems with Shower Operation and the Rate was Not Correct."

I called in to secure a group rate, and the price given by telephone differed from the group rate. I made the reservation at the higher rate. My friend, Jean Kelly who lives in Sun City Center resolved this with the Comfort Inn and I was informed that I was to receive a rate of $65 plus tax per night single occupant. When I arrived on 8-8-15, the desk person stated I would be given the group rate and I confirmed that I could pay prior to departing paying with cash, although I had used an American Express gold card to reserve the room. The following day when I attempted to depart, the desk person would not permit me to pay at all since my credit card was used to secure the higher non group rate. The manager spoke with me by telephone and stated that because I used my credit card with an telephone generated online company, that the card was billed with the higher rate and that the online company had already paid the hotel. Despite attempts to resolve this situation between the online company and hotel, I was unjustly charged at the higher rate of approximately $130 a night rather than the group rate which my friend, Jean Kelly, received from the hotel management. This, along with a non operational shower made for an unpleasant hotel stay, despite having a clean, spacious room, in a central location. That is why I would rate the stay as only fair. I would appreciate a response to my complaint.
