Property Description
Originally a paper-mill dating from the 15th century, Hotel Marmorata has been converted into a beautifully appointed hotel, with rooms furnished in keeping with local tradition.
The natural waterfall that once powered the machines flows down one side of the Hotel. Situated in an enchanting inlet of the Amalfi coast and only 2 kilometres from Amalfi, it is within easy reach of all the coast's best known resorts. The luxurious Superior Rooms are equipped with Jacuzzi and the Junior Suites are furnished with antiques and come with en-suite bathrooms with Jacuzzi and private garden.
All rooms are sea-view and equipped with air-conditioned, radio, satellite TV, telephone, mini-bar and hairdryer.
Thanks to its central and strategic position, it is easy to move around to reach all the well-known places, either by bus or by boat. Infact, it is possible to embark directly from the Hotel to Amalfi, the Emerald Grotto, Positano and Capri. From the sea one can enjoy the beauty of the coast.
The nearest village is Minori (800 mt. far from the hotel), which is even reachable by walking. There it is possible to visit the rests of a Roman villa of the 1st century a.C..
Amalfi, the antique Sea Republic is reachable in only 5 minutes by car. There one can visit for example the St. Andrew's Cathedral, the Paradise Cloister, the Arsenals and the paper mill museum. Amalfi is well connected with Capri, unique in the world for its three Faraglioni rocks watching out of the sea, the Blue Grotto, the small square (“piazzetta”), its marvellous villas and Anacapri.
Driving up on the mountain, there is Ravello, the so-called “Town of the music”, where Wagner composed the “Parsifal”. Furthermore Ravello is famous all over the world for its two charming villas “Rufolo” and “Cimbrone” (with their enchanting sea-view terraces).
Not far away from the coast are Pompeii (35 km), Naples, the Vesuvius, Paestum and many other important places.
The unique position of the hotel gives the opportunity to have as well a relaxing holiday as to visit places of cultural and artistic interest.
