Ulysses Grant Jr. built The US Grant in 1910 to honor his father, the Civil War hero and eighteenth president of the United States, with a world-class location at the heart of downtown San Diego. Almost a century later, in 2007, Grant's icon of urban hospitality reopened after a $56 million restoration and renovation. From the Beaux-Arts lobby to the sophisticated suites, every detail meets the ultimate standard for inclusion in the prestigious Luxury Collection of Starwood Hotels & Resorts.Groups gather in 22 rooms inspired by over nine decades of visiting presidents, tycoons, and other movers and shakers of their day.
