For $400 a nite I expwcted a lot more than cold boiled egg confectionary machine buns and sandwiches. Not good at all. Room cleaning non existant.

Itinerary number: H4586834 To whom it may concern: I wanted to share my recent experience at Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Bangor, ME. With no exaggeration, I can say with confidence that it was the worst customer service I have encountered to date. My husband and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and decided to head to Bangor to attend our nephew's basketball tournament. We decided to make it a family event and to book three rooms so that we could stay next to family members who we have been separated from due to the pandemic. My husband booked three rooms with the understanding that the rooms would be next to each other. This was one of our requirements, as the whole purpose of the stay was to spend time with family. This was all booked a month in advance. Imagine our surprise when we arrived in Bangor, a seven hour drive later, to discover that they only had two rooms reserved for us. With all of our family members standing in the lobby, they told us with a straight face that there was nothing that they could do. All of the rooms in the hotel were booked. We didn't receive a solution to the problem or even a simple apology. We were met with blank stares from the customer service representatives and quite bluntly made to feel as if it was our error. They passed the blame along to the “third party representative” who booked the rooms. Despite the fact that my husband had called the hotel directly, when they didn't answer the call he was redirected to another booking agency. Rather than take any accountability for the screw up on their end, the customer service representatives at Fairfield Inn simply told us that we should have called them directly (which we had) and that there was nothing they could do about it. After deliberating about what to do, some of our family members were forced to get a room at another hotel. Then the second blow came. They gave us the keys to the rooms and we realized right away that they weren't even remotely close to each other, as we had requested. In fact, they were on completely different floors. They couldn't even get that simple request right. Again, there was no apology or lack of compassion for another error on their end. When my husband asked if they intended to do something to compensate for the multiple, major screw ups on their end, he was told that they had no intention of doing anything. All we received was a sarcastic, unempathetic attitude. Though we do not live in Maine, many of our family members do. They often stay at Fairfield Inn and we booked the rooms upon their request. They were embarrassed that they made the recommendation and that we were treated so horribly. Although the hotel was full on that particular night, I'm sure there are many nights where there is availability. I can say with confidence that due to the poor customer service we received, they not only lost our future business, but also the future business of our family. It's embarrassing that the staff at Fairfield Inn treated us so dismissively and offered no compensation for their multiple screw ups. We left feeling extremely let down; to say that it was a disappointment would be an understatement. Lauren Howe.

Very nice and roomy rooms! The pool and hot tub were absolutely wonderful and clean! The breakfast was great as well lots of options! They are also pet friendly which was lovely! Will come again!

Entire staff was excellent! They greeted us every time not only at the front door but also the maids in the hallway. Willing to go above and beyond when I needed something printed or more coffee for the room. The building was obviously under construction but I feel like it could have been organized a bit better. There was torn up carpet on the hallway all five days I was there. It looked complete but with the remains just laying there. Could have easily been cleaned up. Just an eye sore for me but could be a hazard for someone with a disability or children. Loved the ability to use Netflix in the room, coffee kcups a plus!

Had one night stay in June. Room was very clean and bed very comfortable. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. We were not familiar with the area and they were pleased to tell us what was going on in town (a Willie Nelson outdoor concert down at the Riverfront!) The staff at the breakfast were friendly and quick to refill depleting food trays. Lots of grat coffee, hot and cold dishes, fresh fruit. Very nice!
