For those of you in search of something different.At La Taverna we have been looking after guests and travelers for over 40 years. We have been privileged to welcome guests from all walks of life - artists, holiday makers, royalty, scholars - who all come to us with something in common: the search for a more authentic Bali. The hotel layout was inspired by ancestral Balinese villages in the countryside, known as Kampung. So the rooms are loosely arranged around a central space (where village elders would have gathered but we play petanque here…) and are built in the traditional style - though we have enjoyed mixing it with touches from our European homeland, Italy. As in the Kampung we respect the rhythm and balance of nature, the hotel is nestled in lush tropical vegetation and our sandy pathways all lead to the golden sands of the Indian Ocean.We offer a tropical getaway for those interested in the charm and tranquility of an unspoiled Bali, with beautiful Ocean views and the chance to relax in an idyllic setting – all the while conveniently located at a mere 30 minutes from Bali Denpasar Airport. Here you can wake early to witness a legendary Sanur sunrise, the sky a beautiful fuchsia background to the mystical Mount Agung, one of Bali's holiest spots. Spend the rest of the morning sun bathing by the sea or our outdoor pool, treat yourself to the restorative powers of a traditional Balinese massage and round off the day by sipping a cocktail and dining at our romantic beach side restaurant. Those in search of more activities and fun can explore the many attractions the vibrant fishing village of Sanur has to offer: from the nearby museum of the famed artist Le Mayeur, the Sindu Art Market and the many local boutiques, cafés, craft shops and restaurants. The white sandy beaches of Lembongan Islands are just a half- hour fast boat ride away from Sanur beach – for those in wishing to discover the attraction of the nearby islands.
