We are "Hotel Altora"! - a railroad-themed hotel with two buildings next to the trainstation of the Harzer Schmalspurbahn. Our hotel is centrally located in Wernigerode and 500 meter apart from its historic city center.
We are a hotel of moderate size with 42 rooms in total, including 3 single rooms, 11 double rooms, 9 comfort & railway rooms, 8 deluxe double rooms and 2 suites. In addition to that both of our buildings are designed to fit the needs of the disabled.
In our restaurant "1835" you can taste the benefits of the "Harz" with our dishes of game, which we supply from the regional woods. Thanks to our location you can enjoy a beautiful view to the steamtrains of the Harzer Schmalspurbahn from our restaurant with its large terrace and most of the rooms. The highlight of our restaurant is our little steamtrain that brings your drinks directly to your table. If you wish to have a room for your group alone, then feel free to ask for our cozy fireplace room where you can eat and drink in privacy.
