"Terrible customer service and outdated unkempt rooms."
Overall Score1.0/ 5
To start we found that they didn't have Bell Service when we arrived related to COVID 19. Not sure how a bunch of suitcases sitting in a room spreads Covid 19 but whatever I guess. So we had to try and check in early and ended up having to have smoking rooms. So I got two rooms of our four right away. I asked what the resort fee included and at least two of the items including the gym weren't even open. And the pool closed at 6:00 or sometimes even earlier every day. Then when I went back later to get our other two rooms they tried to charge me for smoking rooms and we don't smoke nor was it initially our choice to have them. Then when I asked about possible late checkout since again the Bell Desk wasn't open I was told the rates vary by day and I had to call the morning of. Our friend asked about late checkout the night before we left and was told we could get a 4:00 checkout. I called the morning of as I was instructed to and was told I could only get a 2:00 checkout. I went down a little later to get one of the rooms cards recharged for the day and was allowed to check out at 4:00. Had to pay a charge of $44 and some odd sense though. This again all because we weren't allowed to use Bell Desk. When I asked at check in about any possible upgrades I was promptly and sharply told that wasn't an option. The security guards at the door varied from super nice to completely dismissive. All in all not a great experience.

"Front Desk needs people skills."
Overall Score3.0/ 5
I realize the Front Desk interacts with hundreds of guests daily, but this team needs some work. The day before departure I called the front desk to inquire about any issues they are having with the cab shortage in Vegas, as I had a 7:00 a.m. flight the next morning. A front desk representative by the name of "Randy", in a condescending tone, said there were no issues and I should just come to the front desk if I need them to call a cab. The morning of departure, at 4:30 a.m., the front desk started calling for a cab and over a 45 minute window not one cab came to the hotel. A relative of mine had these very same issues the day prior to my departure, which is why I called the Front Desk to begin with. I ended up getting picked up by a civilian in a van at the curb that offered me a ride to the airport for $30. I didn't think it was the safest route but I didn't want to miss my flight. It is not a matter of if, but when, a female guest departing the hotel has a negative experience (or worse) getting in a civilian's vehicle for a ride to the airport. Why can't The Plaza make available a couple of vans/shuttles to transfer guests to the airport? It seems like a simple fix, versus risking much bigger issues with guests leaving the hotel. In a separate instance earlier in the week a Front Desk clerk chatted with a guest in front of me (clearly all the check in work was completed) as if the desk was tourist information center. Their "chit chat" went on for literally 15 minutes before I interrupted their conversation. There was no other clerks working and the one that was working saw me in plain sight, but felt it was more important to entertain the guest she had finished checking in. At some point, common sense should take over. Those are two good examples to build on with the Front Desk team.

"Good basic hotel room."
Overall Score4.0/ 5
The room was clean and all that. .but there were these three little tubes of shampoo, lotion and body wash. These items were worthless. They are identical in appearance and trying to use them in the shower without your glasses on becomes a real problem. You can't tell if you are using lotion for shampoo or shampoo for body wash. Anyway, until they correct this mistake, be sure to bring your own soap and shampoo, you won't regret it. Resort fees if this hotel wants to stand out from all the rest, put an end to the resort fee scam. If you charge $25 for a room and $25.00 for a resort fee, the just say "the room is $50.00" and be done with it. Since you put out surveys like this, submit a survey to customers to see if they would like this simple price structure better. I would be surprised if you had anyone say "I prefer the resort fee scam better". The room was fine. It was clean and quiet at night. There should have been a mini fridge and coffee maker, but none were there. I requested and got a mini fridge (no charge). Overall I like the room and the Plaza hotel experience. I would stay here again.

"Plaza hotel review."
Overall Score4.0/ 5
Very nice for the price! Nice pool area! Great coffee! Friendly staff! Clean rooms! But the reason for my return is the seating outside by the main entrance! Could be a little more of a bench to sit on! But lots of people watching from one Fremont st. I'll be back! Thanks beldenville Bob.

"THE WORST EXPERIENCE, EVER!"
Overall Score1.0/ 5
Where do I begin, the room had holes in the bathroom door with inadequate caulking around the tub, which showed signs of mildew. I went shopping on my first day and brought my items back to the room. The next morning, I registered for our conference and had breakfast. Housekeeping had already been in to make up the room. I soon discovered that the items that I purchased were missing from my room. I went to security and submitted a report. Security personnel informed me that they would check the cameras to verify if anyone entered my room. When I asked if I would be reimbursed for the theft, I was told "NO, WE DON'T DO THAT!" Finally, the hotel did not honor the discount terms negotiated for attendees of our conference. To add insult to injury, the front desk charged my card an additional $136.00 at check in and another $87.00 at checkout. When I questioned the additional charges, I was told it was a mistake and the charges would drop off of my card in five to 10 business days. Disgraceful performance by the entire organization!
