I booked online and was given a total online including tax. I checked in and was not told of any extra charges. I happen to look at my bank account later that night and saw I was charged 45 dollars more. When I got back to the hotel I asked the front desk why was I charged more and they told me it was for security and I said I was never told this and her resdponse was I ell everyone who checks in that you will be charged that and that she was surprise the gentleman who checked me in didn't tell me because he also tells everyone.

I was very nervous booking a hotel in New York City as we live in a very rural, low key area. The staff was friendly and efficient. The hotel was clean with an awesome view from the 39th floor. It was expensive, but the suite allowed us to get one room, instead of two. Therefore, the cost for two rooms at a two or three star hotel would not have saved us much money. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Property Description

The New Yorker Hotel is located in the very heart of the "big apple" on the corner of eighth Avenue and 34th Street. It is the closest hotel to the Jacob K. Javits Center, three blocks to the Empire State Building and Fifth Avenue Shopping Center, one block to the Madison Square Garden, across from the Pennsylvania Railroad Station, five minutes to all major broadway theaters, movies and Times Square and direct access to all buses and subways. The New Yorker Hotel has a total of 844 guest rooms and suites with truly spectacular views. Our Banquet Facilities includes a magnificent Grand Ballroom and Crystal Ballroom that can accommodate from 150 - 600 people and are available for receptions, special occasions and trade show events. Our Conference Center, located on the 3rd and 4th Floors has 12 meeting and conference facilities with state of the art video conferencing available. Tick Tock Diner, is open 24-hours and Coopers Tavern is open until approximately 2 am daily. We also have the Lobby Cafe that serves cappuccino, espresso coffee, tea, softdrinks and pastries.Safe Deposits available complimentary at the Front Desk, 24-hours a day and in all Tower Rooms and Suites. Laundromat and Gift Shops are located in our lower lobby. The business center and a new fittness center are also located on lower level. Free Wifi in rooms and lobby.
